  1. David: There is a forum section called Information, Please. If it specifically designed for questions and answers. I copied your question into my browser, and in seconds, found this: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Disney_Sing_Along_Songs The Internet can give you instant results to many of your questions.
  2. Shame Shame TCM. Are they too poor? We had 16mm projectors when I was in school. (60s & 70s) I do know how to operate one.
  3. Don't have a favorite host. I'm sort of growing tired of the lady who does all the voiceovers. TCM uses her too frequently. There is also a man, but he isn't used anywhere near as much. I love everything about the wine lady.
  4. Even my sloppy eyesight can see the difference. I tried to watch I Remember Mama last night and the sound was the problem. TCM is responsible for audio/video quality. Comcast has claimed they are not allowed to alter anything. I realize what TCM shows can only be as good as the source material. Some of the 30s/40s movies are in worse condition than the silent films. TCM should not be paying good money for bad movies.
  5. It is Saturday and a Bloody Mary Morning. Have a great day!
  6. I tried to watch I Remember Mama. The audio was so mushy I could not continue. I have very modest issues with my hearing. So I'm watching The Golden Girls on Hallmark Channel. I've been complaining to everyone for 12 years, and nothing gets better. This is a TCM issue as Comcast/Infinity has zero control.
  7. I think they had to be on drugs to make that movie. Mom took us to see it at our small town theater. My brother and I were not yet teens. Too bad we didn't see it at the motor movies, where she could have slept through it.
  8. J'adore quand tu parles français. (Thanks Google Translate)
  9. Welcome back! As before, you are leaving me scratching my head.
  10. Before GW, early 1990s, the FCC relaxed rules for radio, between Midnight and 6 AM. I enjoy TCM for many reasons, including limited profanity.
  11. It is Jena not Jenna. She is cute like Alicia with all that red hair. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/jena_malone/
  12. The article is hilarious. I like the name Jenna. Maybe Spence is thinking about G.W. Bush's daughter. Personally, I'm thinking Meghan McCain, not Megyn Kelly. Meghan and Jenna could sit down with Alicia and talk movies. That would be my choice for what hosts do. Movie introductions bore me. Not crazy about any host, but bashing threads are counter productive and eventually get deleted.
  13. He is a favorite of mine. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/sz_sakall/ He should be Star Of The Month someday.
  14. Thought I was the only one aware of that edit Dargo. Guess who has the Director's Cut version on Blu-ray? The selling price just went through the roof. Hope you're wearing high-top boots. Watch your step. BS everywhere.
  15. I am not making a snap decision. I study these challenges when they are posted. I examine them multiple times. My vote goes to Skimpole, primarily for the musicals. Then The Great Muppet Caper and LawrenceA. They are all great schedules! The thought of doing one myself seems overwhelming! I sincerely hope some of these movies, notably Disney properties, do not become unavailable to TCM. Also hope the smaller turnout is just because it is summertime. Thanks to CinemaInternational! I'm sure creating a challenge is not easy either. Good Luck Everyone!
  16. I do support having categories inside General Discussions. CinemaInternational's Scrapbook threads are great. A Newbie will never see them without looking hard.
  17. How true. Ben M. can be quoted as saying 30s/40s/50s are TCM's bread and butter. 1969 is not too current for me. Maybe 1989. Someone younger than I will say 1999, etc. These days "oldies" music (in contrast) seems to be the 80s.
  18. I can't wait! 11/22 (Friday - 5:30 AM) CORVAIR IN ACTION!, THE ( 1960) Technicians herald the arrival of a new car that "delivers the goods as no other compact car can" in this short advertisement. C- 6 mins,
  19. Checkout INSP. They do the same thing. They won't let Matlock say jack... as in donkey.
  20. I am a little fruity. I sort my bookmarks alphabetically, with folders. On the down side to subcategories, people are likely to post in the wrong place, which already happens. The thread "Why do some classic movie fans bash newer films?" is now on page five. This thread might be a distant cousin.<grin>* * I have nothing but trouble with emojis on my tablet.
  21. I seldom look at the other sections. Moving threads outside of General Discussions could make them harder to find. I do think General Discussions could use subcategories the way TCM Programs does. I was one who wanted the "Scrapbooks" all in one place. Maybe General Discussions is getting too general. We would need the cooperation of the moderators to make changes.
  22. Guess this could go in the car thread too: (The Munster Koach)
  23. Being a nerd/geek at heart, I am curious about speech-to-text. Being dyslexic (sorta), I type at a rapid 26 wpm. With my tablet, I type with one finger. Predictive text rules, but does think on its own, making proof reading critical.
