Boy, Paramount Loved the Song Isn't It Romantic

Mr. Durante was on TCM just yesterday in Two Girls and a Sailor. If Lena Horne can be star for a day, why not Jimmy Durante? -

I am against Summer Under The Stars. It would be like a radio station playing Elvis all day long. Just as annoying as Hallmark and their Christmas movies. But that is just me. It does not sound like HBO Max will replicate the likes of FilmStruck. They plan to include TCM. I want something different than TCM. -
Again!? The rest looks super!

Yikes! I've probably watched Victor/Victoria 100 times. I've locked lips with a blind girl. I didn't go blind and she didn't go sighted. It is kind of the same concept. People fear what they don't understand. Funny, the hippies back in the 60s, "got it" better than we do now. I agree 100% with you sewhite2000.

I might get into trouble for posting the same thing by Johnny Cash. -
I guess it is good we are all different. Sometimes I watch a movie on TCM, knowing nothing about it, and enjoy it. I am auditory, so what goes on my ears matters. I have been known to listen to a program on TV from a different room, especially something I've experienced before. (Doesn't work on Silent Sunday, except there are times when the music is incredible.)

There are quite a few good movies removed from the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI's_100_Years...100_Movies_(10th_Anniversary_Edition)#Films_removed_from_list Seven Brides For Seven Brothers is overrated as a movie and musical. I am not a Howard Keel fan. I'd rather watch The Unsinkable Molly Brown. I like Debbie Reynolds. My likes and dislikes have plenty to do with the stars. Sometimes Katharine Hepburn's voice gets under my skin. It helps a lot of she is with Spencer Tracy and not Cary Grant. Some Joan Blondell (Desk Set) makes it better too.

Or I'm the oddest person you'll ever meet. I could never understand why Star Wars was so big. Really can't understand why TCM went to the trouble to show it twice and even in prime-time. I am a fan of Julie Andrews. That helps for The Sound Of Music. I don't suggest anyone even try to bad mouth Victor/Victoria. It has a little bit of everything. My Favorite!

For your enjoyment. It is a still shot from a video. Not sure how this thread went to the noses, but it is fun, and laughter is medicine. I can think of other noses, mostly the biggie ones. Don't tell Barbra. My favorite nose is Julie Andrews ("Something Good" scene) in The Sound Of Music. -

I don't think so. I believe TCM will rely, like the others, on what they already have the rights to. We shall see. -

I am not the one with the green thumb. In the beginning, the rose was getting too much sunshine. Now it is more mixed. Got some rose food recently, and the leaves are greener. I'm in California and it hasn't been really hot for more than a few days at a time. Too bad I don't live in Carmel, where the rose would be happy for sure. I live closer to Bodega Bay and that's a different star. -

Netflix Splurges on Big-Budget Movies
Dr. Somnambula replied to JakeHolman's topic in General Discussions
It is just they have grown so big. Remember The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday night TV? Remember when it was just Disneyland? Now they own ABC and ESPN? Now they also own The Simpsons and The Sound Of Music.
