September Schedule Up-- SOTM Sidney Poitier
Dr. Somnambula replied to speedracer5's topic in General Discussions
This happens on the TV show too. First episode, I thnk. They go with, "You will call me Mr. Tibbs." I DVR'd the movie and still haven't watched. I cannot imagine a bad Sidney Poitier movie. -
Who would you like to see honored as Star of the Month...?

Didn't know that! She has become popular here for Murder, She Wrote. Don't think there are enough movies TCM could play for Michael Rennie to be SOTM. -

Okay, October: Angela Lansbury! -
I am in CA, and I am finding it on many channels, 8 PM (PDT) on MTV. Go figure.

This is probably one of the best songs ever:

Extra daily programming (for fun)

For the Paris theme, I could only come up with two films. Gay Purr-ee was the first, then Victor/Victoria. For me, these are hard challenges. I have a tiny knowledge of films compared to others here. So these challenges are hard and time consuming. I will reconsider when the rains come. Maybe others will as well. -
James. Really. Nobody plays Jazz 'round here, that I know of. C&W is no different than Jazz. They have both changed. By the time I started enjoying Country music, Western was already rare. '70s Country was much different than '50s-'60s.

I was never a fan of Rock music. In the 1960's, I listened to Mom's favorite radio station. The format was called MOR. Middle Of The Road. Sinatra and Company. About 1975, I went another direction. There are two kinds of music Sepiatone. Country & Western. 🎸

I am similar to Lawrence. I don't pay real close attention to the episode names. A small clue or mention of guest stars works better. By now, I've probably seen all MSW episodes. -

According to IMDb, running times were 48 minutes for MSW. Runtimes for CBS' Madam Secretary are 45 minutes. Watching Michael Rennie in season one of Lost In Space took 51 minutes. The older shows ran longer. So Hallmark M&M / WGN-A has to edit. A huge plus to DVD would be no commercials and no splash-screen promos. -
Best Movie Year: 1982. Then 1981. 1980 works too. I worked in cable TV at the time and received TMC at no charge.

Robert Preston!!! -
Okay, I will go first. My vote goes to Lonesome Polecat. Of course, I agree, all the schedules are great. I respect the effort it takes to be so creative. In looking at LP's schedule, when posted, I kept seeing movies I'd love to watch. Congratulations to SpeedRacer5 for facilitating #40. Good Luck To Everyone!!!

This is one time where not including the shorts makes a difference. Seven, plus a documentary.

This is one of those movies I saw on broadcast TV long before seeing it again on TCM. Equally as entertaining for me as movies with Rock and Doris.
-
My favorite words from Eddie, "Filling in for Ben." I've been slacking a little when it comes to watching Eddie using the Noir Alley site. Eddie is the best host, period!

Works today. I think the web address yesterday was different.

Do I need a reason?🍹

Me too. Able to play a movie. No live feed. Web browser on tablet.
