  1. I seem to remember seeing only part of this one old cartoon at one time that looked like it from the mid-1930s and was in two-strip color. It looked like it COULD HAVE been from Warner Brothers, or if not, maybe from another studio. If it was from Warner Brothers, then it was very likely directed by Friz Freleng, since he did direct all of the early two-strip color cartoons. It was one of those cartoons where inanimate objects come to life and are portrayed as humans. What I remember of this cartoon was that a bottle of vinegar appeared as a villain and had kidnapped a blonde girl, who I believe was either a sugar dispenser or else a salt shaker, and was all tied up and taken to a sawmill factory. However, the girl was actually being driven up towards a fast rotating gear inside of a cuckoo clock to simulate a round-saw in action. The hero, who most fittingly may have been a pepper shaker if the girl was the opposite seasoning component, came to the rescue and had the vinegar villain defeated in some way I can't recall. I think I had seen this cartoon a couple of times, and only partially, which is why I believe it was probably shown on "Pee-Wee's Playhouse", since a lot of classic cartoons (mostly public domain ones) would be featured on this show, and only just as a brief excerpt, usually not much longer than two minutes. Whenever any children's show features classic cartoons, or else just only brief scenes taken from them, chances are the cartoons are ones in the public domain. I know that one PBS children's program "Shining Time Station" showed lots of scenes from classic public domain cartoons from time to time set to an original song of the show. Whatever cartoon this was I had seen, I just always figured that I had only seen it on "Pee-Wee's Playhouse", in an altered form, nonetheless.
  2. Rock Hudson was in GIANT with Jane Withers
  3. One other thing that came to mind - There is a good chance that this movie could possibly be shown on TCM, not only if Cyd Charisse were to be Star of the Month, but maybe if they would show movies for a daytime theme based on "numerical" titles, such as "A LETTER TO THREE WIVES", "FOUR’S A CROWD", "OCEAN’S ELEVEN", "BUTTERFIELD 8", etc. TCM has done this before, I'd say a couple of times I can recall. This would also make a good spotlight, as well. Then again, when the movie titles reach to the number 7, it's very likely that "SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS" or else "THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN" would be seen instead of "MAROC 7", only due to the fact that the latter has very likely never been shown on the network before.
  4. This is a RARE movie with Cyd Charisse that I have asked about -
