  1. Cool! Glad you checked it out! And furthermore, I'm glad you just registered as a member! We hope to have you at the Diner a lot, so sit back and have a hot steaming cup of coffee and enjoy the conversation! As for the sig, no need to worry. There will definitely be no probs telling the difference! LOL! Larry
  2. My name is Larry and I run a message board called Larry's 66 Diner. We are a group of individuals ? several of us whom have spawned from other message boards ? who, for the most part, have several of the same interests. Larry's 66 Diner was founded on two of my main interests: Route 66 (The Mother Road of America) and Silent & Classic films. But all of us at the Diner discuss more than those two topics ? in fact, most of the time we just socialize and play games! We like talking about our main common interests too, but we don't have die-hard, serious, technical conversations about them at the Diner, like many message boards do. (Our guidelines are not so strict that they prohibit us from having fun!) The Diner has been in operation for almost a year and, up to now, we have remained a small group by choice. Now, however, we wish to open the doors of the Diner to a larger member base! Come on over to Larry's 66 Diner and join the fun! Larry

  4. Our chat went great that evening. We spent probably 3? hours in the chat room. We are planning another chat around the Christmas Holiday, so everyone please feel free to come to the Diner and chat with us! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  5. We are having another Live Chat scheduled at Larry's 66 Diner Chat Room this coming Tuesday evening. If you are a registered member, please feel free to stop in and join us in chat. Hope to see you there! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  6. I don't know, but I sure wouldn't mind having his e-mail address, myself! I would be quite flattered to have the opportunity to communicate with this most wonderful gentleman! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  7. My Gosh! I never knew that he flew cross-country for this! Geez! That's quite a trek! I have the utmost respect for this very distinguished gentleman! Two thumbs up for Mr Osborne! As for the initial topic, I cannot say that I've noticed anything differently about him. Of course, I haven't had the chance to see TCM in the last several days either, though. And on a side note, does anyone know if there is a page somewhere here on this site with Mr Osborne's biography? I'd love to see one about him -- while he is still with us! The Penalty

OMG, I can't believe that I forgot to come back here and mention that I finally watched this, oh, about two weeks ago! This was an awesome movie! This is Lon Chaney at his absolute best! I have never seen him in a better role! The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the ending; it almost seemed that it was hurriedly thrown together! Aside from that, this is definitely a 4-STAR movie!!!!!!!!! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/

    The Penalty

I'm yet to see The Penalty. I'd recorded onto my DVR that night, but I still haven't had the opportune time to sit down and watch it. Then, when I DO have a little time on my hands, a few other movies keep getting bumped ahead of that one! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  11. Don't forget to stop in and visit us during our Halloween chat on Tuesday night. We will open up the chat room at about 9:00pm (US) Central Time. Come on in and let's all have some fun! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  12. TOP OF THE LIST: VINCENT PRICE!!!! Then Karloff, Lugosi, Cushing, Lee, and both Chaneys! But VINCENT PRICE is and always will be the King ... the Master of Horror!!!!!!!!! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/

    Horror Films

I'm with you, Conan. Where did all those great Halloween films go? This time of the year is prime for showing all those Universal and RKO greats! Larry http://lwsroute66.proboards57.com/
  14. I must say that I initially watched it for Marie Dressler, more than for Chaplin or Normand, due to the fact I'm a huge Marie Dressler fan! I must chime in that I, too, concur that it was wonderful seeing Chaplin step outside the Tramp's shoes to play a different type of character! He and Normand were both great, as well!
