  1. I see I wasn't the only one who wasn't a fan of that version.
  2. Caught Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in theaters last week; was a great experience. So many things went over my head when I was younger.
  3. A lot I haven't seen...Probably will be spending all day in front of the T.V. Haha.
  4. Fair. I love when a film with outtakes. ...I can definitely relate.
  5. Funny you say that...I saw it in theaters back in the day. It prompted me to look up the old show, but then I saw how many episodes there were and never started. That's why I asked. Haha. I think I'm gonna watch a few and see how it goes.
  6. Oh yes. I always stick around for the credits now...definitely cheated if I don't. My wife is the one who searches for "the caterer" now...That is, if she hasn't already jumped on IMDB before the movie is over to figure it out. Haha.
  7. I've come close to starting this series...but it's such a commitment. Worth it? As for what I've just watched...National Velvet. Really enjoyed young Taylor and Mickey Rooney.
  8. When I was a teen I used to be really good about reading the book before the movie...but now, I'm not so good. That being said, once I finished Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder, I decided to be proactive and get Robert Jordan's The Eye of the World since Amazon's Wheel of Time is coming out in November. About 150 pages in now...Not usually big into fantasy, but I am enjoying it.
  9. If closing credits were as short as they used to be...it wouldn't be so bad holding it while waiting for the end credits scene.
  10. The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) As you'll catch me saying a lot around here...Why haven't I seen this one before? Or, better yet, I still have a lot of catching up to do. Watched this one with my wife as it was a TCM Wine Club pairing. We both thoroughly enjoyed it...Was a blast. The interactions between Bobby and Klaatu were fun and memorable.
  11. I've never seen Sunset Boulevard...Always wanted to...I'll have to tune in. Also I know I'm speaking early, but I'm excited to see October's schedule...Hopefully better than last year.
  12. Glad you made it through the commercial torture. I haven't seen this one, but was reading about it over in the noir thread. Going to have to add it to the list.
  13. Ah, thanks! I will check him out too...I love some good conspiracy along with Coast to Coast every once and a while. Haha.
  14. Was the guest Nick Redfern? I think he has a newer book about the topic...I picked it up, but haven't started reading it yet. I heard him on a podcast a few weeks ago and thought that theory held weight. As a big Sinatra fan, interesting to see he thought that...
  15. For some reason, I thought I was certain of this date...seems I would have missed it, myself, if not corrected. Thank you TopBilled!
  16. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) What a ride. Still not sure what I think about it...but there was some savagery to say the least. This was one of the few Kubrick films I hadn't seen yet; another I'm really looking forward to is Paths of Glory.
  17. Awesome. Haven't seen Buck Privates; I will have to tune in.
  18. Harvey (1950) I really enjoyed this one. Not sure if it would be as comedic if made today...when he kept trying to introduce the doctor to Harvey, but he kept getting cut off.
  19. While there are several SUTS days I'm really looking forward to, I think I'm most excited for this one. As a huge Universal classic monsters fan...it's probably been six or seven years since I last saw them meet Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Mummy, and Dr. Jekyll. I'll most definitely be tuning in from 8 P.M. to 2:45 A.M. Any other of their films that I should check out this day?
  20. The poor turtle, indeed. I don't think I've ever seen The Swarm...and don't think I'll be staying up until four to watch it after everyone's comments. If it goes on demand, maybe some time next week.
  21. Didn't realize this was on it's second season...going to have to go back and watch some of them. Another one came out today; definitely enjoyed Piranha.
  22. @LornaHansonForbesthat would be an incredible attraction to visit; my wife is a huge Popeye fan.
  23. Currently, I am reading Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke and the newer, revised Dark City. I also found Julie Salamon's The Devil's Candy, the subject matter for season two of The Plot Thickens, at a used bookstore in town. Going to start it when this season of the podcast ends.
