REDSKIN 1929 SILENT Paramount Directed by Victor Schertzinger Richard Dix. Last silent of Richard Dix,with Julie Carter Jane Novak.Beautiful film. The film is regarded highly by historians for presenting sympathetic portrayals of Native Americans in the silent film era. The action happening on the white man territory is shot in black & white, while the action on the Indian's one is in Technicolor,75% of the film is shot in beautiful Technicolor-2 strip I think.A very good film.82 minutes 7.5/10 Extra info from IMDB :This was actually an accident. The financial backers for the film ran out of money to spend on the then very expensive color film and ordered the filmmakers to immediately switch to black-and-white. Upon hearing this, the filmmakers realized that all the scenes at the Native American village had been shot.

The Million Eyes of Sumuru 1967 UK distributed in USA by AIP Directed by Lindsay Shonteff. George Nader Shirley Eaton Klaus Kinski Wilfrid Hyde-White and ...Frankie Avalon ( who has top billing but not much screen time-maybe it was cut). A megalomaniac woman wants to kill all male political leaders of the world and replacing them by her army of women. British Intelligence(!) wants Nader and Avalon to find and destroy her. I watched this film for Eaton ( The Gold Painted Girl of Goldfinger),instead of being the sultry blonde as she usually is, in this turkey she has jet black hair. This is another( bad) supposed to be spy movie.Avalon seems unease acting without a bathing suit but the second lead actress Patti Chandler was in several of his beach movies so he was not too much lost by the scenery. The print I have seen was about 70 minutes out of 95.I will try to locate a full print anyway...Abysmal 4.50/10 A Contender for TCM Underground perhaps.

The Thing with Two Heads 1972 AIP Pictures Directed by Lee Frost Ray Milland Roosevelt Grier.Late in his career Ray Milland was doing a lot of things for the money as he said but he also knew he was no longer a leading man. This movie is very funny in a way.A bigot doctor researching head transplants(successful with a 2 headed gorilla-gorilla suit of course) is planning to try it on humans but something happens and he must be the guinea pig. This is not a comedy but they are many funny lines by Milland and others, the atmosphere on the set must have been very good...The ending is great with a very appropriate song. A perfect fit for TCM Underground 91 minutes 5.5 /10

Why not just "overlooked film makers"? Why does everything have to be about race?
This kind of thing, despite its stated purpose, serves to divide us as a people. It's a form of segregation.
The same holds true when we emphasize "women filmmakers". It's divisive.
We're not going to make any actual progress as a society until people get past this identity nonsense. This assumes, of course, that everyone wants to get past it and not wallow in it, and that, unfortunately is not true.
Well I noticed many things in the last year or two, several posters are getting tired of the 'lecturing' (I may have not the right term) about the race issue. The other night Mr Karger and Mrs Stewart were presenting Citizen Kane, they were mentionning the original annoted screenplay was available at the museum there and she mentionned the screenplay of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was there also. I like the movie with Gregory Peck very much, but I feel this was not necessary comment regarding Citizzen Kane,we all know what To Kill a Mockingbird'is about. This is my opinion.

Do we have to have a reason to dislike a film ? I'am not into musicals at all but i have seen many because I complete certain actors. Do I have to explain why I dislike them? Why boring other pollsters about an essaie on film,to each is own,if somebody like to explain details fine for them,,I do not read reviews anywhere anyway'for fear of spoilers, When I Review a film here on the board it is 2 lines I have no interest to be a columnist on film. And I do not like highcaps.I do not like coconut the fruit (not the film titled coconuts) since childhood ,it is very popular but I cannot explain why I do not like it,sorry.

Sunday, September 26 at 1 pm I Married a Witch with Veronica Lake Fredric March
It played earlier this month it is a great comedy by René Clair, great tempo no wasted time.March was too old for the part (McCrea passed on it) Lake is so good in it with good direction & good casting she was proving she could be a great actress The chemistry was great between the 2 stars their hate of each other was not apparent at all!

I love it when people say crap like that. I never understand though, how people can make claims like that which admit they just don't GET it. Like...
A CLOCKWORK ORANGE was SUPPOSED to be disturbing. That was the POINT! And the only disturbing thing I can find about 2001 is it's way too ambiguous ending. But seeing it in a cinerama theater on a hit of mescaline makes it more enjoyable.
i remember very well i was 16 at the time somebody in the UK -i think-killed somebody in the street coming out of the theater, i remember my feelings then when i saw the fillm and it could disturb vulnerable people the wrong way

Nakano, not to be contradictory, but I'm pretty sure TCM has shown The Glass Wall before, although not on Noir Alley.
Oh, wait, sorry, you're saying another film, Naked Alibi, has never played on TCM. Never seen it, you're probably right about that one.
My,my...yes it was about Naked Alibi but for your info The Glass Wall was played only 2 times before the next 2 Noir Alley showings

The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
Love Story
Cleopatra (1963)
The Jazz Singer (any version)
I agree with the negative regard for Auntie Mame, as well.
I wouldn't say I hate them, but I was never crazy about Some Like It Hot or The Apartment. Same with It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
I was also never a fan of the Three Stooges, and their ubiquity on TV has made me loathe them even more.
On a more recent note, all of the Transformers movies are garbage. Armageddon was abysmal. And while I'm a fan of many of Clint Eastwood's films, some of the better-regarded I don't care for, like Mystic River (to me it was like a grade-C episode of Law & Order), Sully, The Mule. or Cry Macho, the latter of which I thought was a career low point.
I agree with everything and kudos for : 'I was also never a fan of the Three Stooges, and their ubiquity on TV has made me loathe them even more. '

I am not well versed in foreign films as they take a bit more "work" to watch, but I may have to make an exception for Mr. Delon. Ooh la la.
Yes Alain Delon is in my top 5 for most beautiful leading man in the movies,he has made many good films,he has an extensive filmography,a varied one.I think he dies in 17 of them (as he made many action films) if not more, he will be 86 in november,he was a great pal of JeanPaul Belmondo who died 2 weeks ago.
