  1. I,am surprised no reporters are telling Pence that 1600000 tests done with 337000 positives is a 20% score ! this is a huge percentage imo. How many positives cases are possible ? 20 million ? How many deaths? On Saturday I could not believe my ears Trump was saying that he 'cherish the Constitution', everybody knows he has never read otherwise he would know the difference in executive and legislative power. He is so malicious he had to take a shot at governor Pritzker(Illinois) saying 'he could not do the job',he is always trying to put down Andrew Cuomo by saying NY turned an offer to buy 'thousands & thousands of ventilators before' the amount yesterday was 16000.Something was published about it it was not the truth.Trump is so jealous of Cuomo-who behaves like a President but heTrump cannot jab him too much , Cuomo is liked and Cuomo deserves it. I'm fed up in hearing 1917 instead of 1918,can the idiots writing the base of his speech-probably 8 lines -rest is adlibs- they can write 1918 in bold letters using a sharpie.Yesterday he was repeating what he had said 10 minutes earlier like if it was 'fresh news'. How he acted with the AP & CNN reporters is really outrageous... this is a dictatorship. Can anybody do anything ? Pushing drugs like an info-mercial is fishy & totally irresponsible, I better stop,I'am Canadian but what is happening in the USA since November 2016 is so awful ...at every level. If the number of deaths is less than 100000 Trump & Pence will tap each other on the back, and campaign on this amazing, fantastic, tremendous, incredible, extraordinary success for re-election.Sorry it is so long-did not expect it to be but I had to write it I guess..
  2. I have all the bios on Errol including his 2 novels, the first printing of Wicked Ways is worth looking for as he had to withdraw passages in it about Jack Warner and others for the next editions.I have read on Olivia and her sister as well. Errol was a gentleman,he never kiss and tell-unlike Cooper- but Michael Caine in his bio book revealed more about the De Havilland- Flynn : it was more serious than everybody said, including Olivia who denied it.She told him a detail I cannot elaborate here, but after she could not tested for the Virgin Queen part that went to Bette Davisis the way I can explain it..I see no reason for Caine to lie and it did not help to sell more books as it was not reported at all at the time.
  3. I always read Max Boot, another excellent column.
  4. Madame la Princesse vous etes toujours intéressante et drole !
  5. Un Mauvais Fils 1980 aka the Bad Son by the excellent Claude Sautet with Patrick Dewaere Brigitte Fossey Yves Robert. After 5 years in a USA jail, a son returns home and must face the hostility of his father.Very good drama 8/10
  6. i think John Mills was honored 5-6 years ago, not certain,Jack Hawkins would be good, but no Ben Hur please ! Veronica Lake would be nice but long shot, she was mostly with Paramount and many of her movies never made on dvd
  7. I MARRIED A WITCH 1942 René Clair,it played 10 days ago on TCM,I had seen it many many years ago so it was new! Funny story! i like Veronica Lake a lot,i think she was talented,i like her voice too.Susan Hayward in an early role is excellent as the abrasive fiancée of Fredric March. March was 46 when the movie was made .In my opinion he looked too old for the part and was odious with Lake on the set.She lived in Montreal in the 60's,7 years ago I was identifying a lady on the phone when I asked her her mother's name she said Veronica Lake.It is not reported she had a child in the 50's or 60's but it is possible.I believed the lady -she was surprised when I told her I was very familiar but I digress,it is an excellent film by René Clair with very good special effects for the period. 8/10
  8. She was a beautiful woman but she had many mental problems,I'am trying to see all of her movies

  11. So true, actually the way Trump insist talking about the missing n95 masks in NYC reminds me of the Missing Strawberries Case in The Caine Mutiny. Capt Queeg had a nemesis, but Trump gets away with everything...
  12. Yes they were but earlier than 2012. part of the Columbia deal I would say circa 2006-2009
  13. STORM IN A TEACUP 1937 by Victor Saville.Good comedy set in Scotland with Rex Harrison Vivien Leigh & a good supporting cast including Arthur Wontner-who made 4 or 5 movies as Sherlock Holmes-a good one-before Rathbone-story involves a reporter, a dog & an ambitious politician, I do not know if this film was ever shown on TCM. 7/10
  14. Wow Jennifer on my Mind on April 3rd, an early De Niro impossible to find

  17. The Essentials has been too long,we even had the Essentials JR a few years ago for the summer I think,if they want to inform the new subscribers and reach to the classic film veterans they should show documentaries presented by M Haskell,Jeanine Basinger,Scott Heyman etcthere is many, many good documentaries available. enough for a first season or 2 as a try out. Anything but the essentials please.
  18. Lombard was always teasing him about Parnell, telling their friends to just say the word to see Gable's reaction.
  19. The Crimson Pirate 1952 playing tonight,Burt Lancaster at 39 ! In his prime and a great star.I'am a big fan of Errol Flynn but Burt was hard to beat in this one.
  20. You were right Yes played a week before at the same hall in Asbury Park. Now what happened to Wishbone Ash on the ELP summer tour of 1972 is as complicated as the plot of the Big Sleep with Bogart and I'am serious.First of all both concert archives by Wishbone Ash & ELP are inaccurate. Wishbone Ash played West Coast dates but nothing else it seems.ELP played 2 shows in Asbury Park on the 19th of august 1972,( 7H30 &10H00 PM),I have seen the ticket stubs for both shows pretty sure there was no support, the very last show of the tour was added at the last minute at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia MD. W Ash was advertised on a poster for a show in Milwaukee on aug 11th but no evidence W Ash played there with ELP. Dates in the South(about 6) were with JOJO GUNNE a Warner act with a hit that summer.Black Oak Arkansas played only 2 dates aug 13th in Saratoga & Montreal on the 15th.Just before Asbury Park there was a couple of dates with Ramatam an Atlantic Band with ex Experince drummer Mitch Mitchell featuring a then hot girl guitar player named April Lawton(-look for her in the internet you will discover things on her) they played Chicago and Rochester. On that show Malo also supported.PS Just for your info ELP played the same hall in 1971 on august 14th and in Montreal on the 13th with Humble Pie opening last tour with Frampton i think.
  21. I have seen when it was released first run,no success but a good movie,Virginia Madsen is in her prime & very sexy
  22. I saw Journey as an instrumental band opening for ELP in Long Beach CA in august 1977,they were interesting... I saw them a year later in Buffalo NY on a 4th of july show. The Rolling Stones were headlining Rich Stadium,Journey were 3rd or 4 fourth on the bill with Steve Perry on vocals. the band of course sounded very different...
  23. a lot of people like Starless and bible black...but not me,i again agree with your choices,i saw the Larks lineup 3 times( opening for Johnny Winter's return in 1973 a bad match to say the least and 2 more times as a headliner, the best lineup of Crimson...the second best album
