I think it would be great to have all of these people back again later in the year. Perhaps some of the best ones (like the 10 year old kid) can come back more than once. It is very interesting to see these good looking and articulate "average TCM fans" talking so well about the movies we all love.

Was it in black & white or color? Was it an old film or one made after 1960?

If Guests could post, there would be hundreds of posts by Guests. It's probably a moderator or staff member who knows what to do.

I just checked and we've got 14 registered members on the board right now. That is good for a Friday afternoon. Some old members could not sign on using their old names, so they are here under new names, such as MONGO. I like the new board. We can show videos, larger still photos, and we can Copy Screen and post that to show people what we are talking about regarding this website. I think we will get a lot of new members and older ones returning, as time goes by. .

Sometimes a website does not want anyone to link a photo from their website. Sometimes a photo is copyrighted. Sometimes someone is trying to sell copies of their photos. If you put some of the board names of our board members into the GOOGLE IMAGES search feature, you will find that GOOGLE has been stealing our personal photos.

About 6 months ago, a bunch of the contest entries had their own videos on YouTube. They lasted about 2 minutes. Some were very good, some were not so good. I thought the "contest" meant they were going to select only 1. But they selected 20 of the best, and they are a great 20. You might need to click on EDIT MY PROFILE and click on MY SETTINGS, then find the page that says GENERAL ACCOUNT SETTINGS.. Then go to PHOTO and click on CHANGE MY PHOTO. Post a URL there for an Avatar. I think it needs to be a small picture. Go to the MEMBER TITLE section and post a small name, title, or quote. That will changed Advanced Member to whatever you want. Go to PROFILE INFORMATION and LOCATION, and post a town, state, country, or a fantasy place.

There was a film I saw as a kid titled JAPANESE WAR BRIDE, and I liked it a lot. The Japanese bride was brought back to the US by her American husband, and his family and friends didn't like her and gave her a lot of trouble. Of course this marriage took place after about 6 or 7 years of very harsh anti-Japanese propaganda in the media because of the war. Most Americans did not realize that most Japanese people didn't want to have anything to do with the war and were usually very kind and nice people. That was a great movie! I love to see average English people defending their homeland! Reminds me of us Americans, just as Yancey pointed out about the Passengers of Flight 93 on 9/11/01 Those were very powerful scenes of the lady who shot the spy, the lady who killed the Nazi with an axe, and the older lady who took the grenade away from the kids and she got blown up in the hallway. And those hero kids. I love hero kids like that. A wonderful movie!

I grew up as a kid in the South in the 1940s and 50s, hearing severl common quotes from GONE WITH THE WIND that had become part of our vocabulary. Such as: I don't know nuthin about birthin no babies. You aren't worth $300 You know a dyed haired woman?? Don't eat so fast, you don't want it to come right back up. After all... tomorrow is.. another day.

Years ago, when I first added Real Player and Quick Time to my old Windows 98, they would fight with one another for dominance. Sometimes Windows Media Player would get into the fight too. I mean, they would fight as I watched them un-plug each other and try to become my "main" media player. Sometimes they would do that for several minutes, untill I killed them. They were inside my compuer trying to push each other out of the way. That was a strange experience.

I can save a screen grab as a photograph only on Paint, in a Word Document, and in the Microsoft Picture It photo editing program.

It won't save it as a JPG that way. Only as a mht, or an htm, or a txt file. Not as JPG or GIF
