  1. Last night I tried to post the name of the flop house FCDobbs stayed in, in Tampico, but the filter blocked one of the words. The name, in English, is The Black Bear, but the Spanish is The Oso N e g r o. So what resulted was The Oso Negro.
  2. RED DUST is on tonight! 10 PM Eastern Time
  3. Speedracer, Sure you can change it. I changed mine to a quote from a movie. See above my picture on the left side of this post. Go to MY SETTINGS and then go to the box that says MEMBER TITLE and type in a few words, then save your changes.
  4. lz How about down at the bottom of the Genre Forum list, under Trailers? TEST YOUR PHOTO SIZES HERE People could also use it to test their posting formats and other posting experiments, such as color text, type sizes, etc. On the old forum, I sometimes would format and type up a whole long posts, with several photos, and test it there to see if everything looked ok. If it did, then I would copy all of it, delete it, then post my copy in some other forum page. Fred (I think I clicked on "report" by mistake)
  5. Yes, I'll look for a good out of the way place, then advertise for the photo buffs.
  6. Ha, ATTACHMENTS. That allows you to go into your computer and pull out your own photos.
  7. I don't remember. I could do it yesterday, but I forgot how I did it.
  8. HI, If you right click the small photos, you will then see the large ones and the large ones have a separate URL address: http://turnerclassicmovies.invisionzone.com/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-31314-0-43604500-1396682808.jpg
  9. Hey, you guys know what's funny?? Try this message to one of the board members: George, you are a **** and a **** You aren't worth ******* and you **** with your ****. You *******! Fred . . . . . . . . . . LOL, Those are not curse words. They are just random asterisks, but they will make George mad because he imagines they are curse words.
  10. Ok, here's the quickest method I've found so far, for reducing the size of a photo for posting on this board: I started with large format photo URL (click on this to see the large photo and to get the full URL address for that photo): http://d1g4sq00ps2bp3.cloudfront.net/entertainment/23751_3.jpg I typed that URL into the blank Tinypic URL box, and I down-sized it to a smaller size, and I got this new URL for the smaller photo: http://i57.tinypic.com/30mafzo.jpg Typed that URL into This forum via Image input button (the image input button is blue and it is just below and to the left of the smiley face image on the format section that you see when you are typing a message in the main blank-form reply box) And I ended up with this smaller photo: Here is a smaller Tinypic version:
  11. Thelma, Looks like the Re-Sizer photos last only a few minutes. I guess it is to give us time to save the smaller images to our computer files, then we can use Tinypic to get them a URL address and post them on the board. Or, we can use your method. Let us know if anyone finds any other methods. Fred
  12. Ok, I found a picture re-sizer program. You'll have to play around with it, but it works. Follow the instructions. Click on FROM COMPUTER or FROM WEB, where ever the photo is located: http://www.picresize.com/ I don't know how long these will last. They might go blank after a while, so you might want to save the large and small size image to a computer file for photos, so you can repost it using tinypic.
  13. Thelma, I found only one size number, following the letter s But most photos don't have any size numbers in their URL codes, so I don't know yet how to reduce those in size. We might have to copy them to a computer file, then copy to a Tinypic file and re-size them during that copy. But I'll try to find a shorter way. I found a way to copy and post IMDB photos by playing around with their codes.
  14. I DOOD IT! I changed the 640 number in the URL code to 350..
  15. 510 x 640, full size. I'll try to find a way to reduce the size.
  16. A test for Thelma: <img src=http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wyrHGg4v30k/UhOFo8ftnmI/AAAAAAAAX4o/ffsYmt2gqBg/s640/$(KGrHqZ,!oIFHc5hGMvoBR4qIO(BtQ~~60_57.jpg height =425 width =375> . . . . Oh, well, that old code didn't work.
  17. jamesjazzguitar, I have never liked blackface routines, even when I was a kid growing up in the South. About 35% of the population I grew up with was black, and although schools and other places were segregated, we didn't bother each other and everyone got along just fine. In stores we shopped side by side, and on the sidewalks we walked side by side, and occasionally we spoke to one another and smiled. One time, when I was about 17 years old, I was looking toward my right when I started to cross a downtown street, and a young black man grabbed me and pulled me backwards. I thought he was going to hit me, but he was actually pulling me back so I wouldn't get hit by a fast moving city bus that was coming up on my left and that missed me by just inches. I looked at him in a startled way, and I thanked him very very much. That incident suddenly and instantly altered the way I thought of black people. It was a turning point in my life. Anyway, I always thought that blackface routines were insulting, even before that incident, and moreso after it. I told my father about it and he suggested we walk a block or so down into the black shopping street in our downtown, where all the clerks were black and where white people never shopped. But we began shopping in some of those stores and the clerks treated us like normal human beings. Some were a little surprised to see us at first, but they finally got used to us. FredC.
  18. How do I shorten a quote then post my message after it? I can't seem to get out of the quote box when I shorten a quote.
  19. Test CLICK ON THE THUMBNAIL That came from my computer file of the image.
  20. Swithin, I think there is a way to pull up a photo from your computer files. I saw someone mention it earlier, but I haven't figured out yet how to do it.
  21. JAKE, at the top of the blank posting box, with all the code stuff shown at the top, and under the smiley face and to the left is a little blue box symbol. Put your mouse cursor over that and it says IMAGE. Click on that and then post your image URL address.
