TCM would NOT do that.
How do you know? Were you there? Somebody deliberately paused the movie - and I have no doubt about it. It has to do with the content of THE FAKE. About who THE FAKE is. Other movies don't freeze. I watch TCM all the time and there are no freezes on any movies. All day every day. I was thinking about this movie THE FAKE that something was going to go wrong. I thought it was going to be bumped at the last minute. So there is no need to "apologize" and post weather reports. Its lame & embarrassing.
I just talked with my contacts at the NSA, and they said they played a joke on you and a couple of other people and froze the last several minutes of that film just to irritate you.

TCM deliberately froze it.
TCM would NOT do that.
There are dozens of technical reasons that could freeze an image.
When a signal is lost by a satellite, it is designed to freeze the last good frame, rather than broadcasting "snow" or "static".
A big thunderstorm or snow storm in Atlanta could cause an image freeze.

Weather interference may cause trouble with your television reception. Snow or heavy rain can prevent your television from properly receiving the cable signals. During severe weather, your television screen may appear to freeze frame or become pixelated. Bad weather affects the signal's ability to successfully travel to your television set. Sometimes, the freeze frame only lasts for a few seconds, or several short freeze frames occur within a short period of time. This means the cable signal is reaching your television, but the bad weather is delaying it. When the weather clears up, the signal and thus your cable picture should return to its normal condition.Read more : http://www.ehow.com/list_6821251_causes-freeze-frame-cable-tv_.html

Tuba City holds Thanksgiving dinner for communityOn the Navajo Reservation:
TUBA CITY, Ariz. - The St Jude's Catholic Church, Supervisor Lena Fowler's office, and Tuba City Unified School District Superintendent Bill Higgins' office sponsored the annual Tuba City Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
Fowler and Higgins collaborated to make this a bigger event in order to feed more people.
Sister Mary from St. Jude's Parish stated that a soup kitchen is open the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Last year 1,200 people were fed. This year, the hours were extended so more people could be fed at the Warrior Pavilion.
Sister Mary commented that many businesses and schools in the community were involved to make this year's event a success. She commented that there is a problem with food shortage around Tuba City that prompts them to provide food and have a soup kitchen.

An Indian friend of mine is celebrating Thanksgiving with his family today. They love turkey.

Since our country is in a rioting mood, maybe movies with riots in them would calm everyone down, lol. Seriously, is this one topic that classic movies never covered? Maybe so.

NipkowDisc, try Encore and the 30 other movie channels for the newer movies.

DUEL is stupid.

I think Warren William is in this film. I remember when TCM used to air it when Ted Turner owned the channel back in the 1990s.

Tedturneresia?

Ha! You're right! The natural colorization of black and white images that takes place inside the brain.

This is in the rules of talking about film and not politics.Ben was rather too subtle about it .
Yeah, but, Ben was also talking to a lot of people who aren't as educated,
experienced, and mature as we long-time film buffs are.

Arent most of his Paramount silents lost? Wonder why?
They might have been destroyed on purpose.

There are emil Jannings films made before 1932, That t.c.m could show.
If you can find any of these on YouTube, I'd like to see them.

Casablanca vs Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia
This film made between the end of the Hayes Code and before PC hits the nail on the head. You get a feeling that this was more like it would have been.
Don't forget that bank robbers always wore nice suits and usually were polite in the 1930s and 40s.

In retrospect, this somewhat silly yet utterly enjoyable 1941 film about the Navy in Hawaii gives no hint of the horror to come.
IMDB says this film was released in American theaters in September of 1941. It looks to me like one of the WORST war-preparedness propaganda films ever made, and it would have encouraged the Japs to go ahead with their attack plans against this group of American idiots.

Jannings, Brent, Powell and all the cast were terrific.

The Oxford comma is generally used if there are 3 or more items in a list.
I use the TV News comma system, with commas representing short pauses.
Longer pauses use dots, like this.........
That last sentence has a short-pause comma and a longer-pause set of dots.
In my opinion, your sentence should read:
"To my parents, Ayn Rand...... and God."
Ho! Now I see the problem. I thought your sentence meant that Ayn Rand AND God were her parents! LOL
I would write the sentence this way:
"To my parents, to Ayn Rand, and to God."
or:
"To my parents, Ayn Rand, and God."
