It's a high-class word for "intermission" because we are high-class people.

What a night on TCM. The Worst of Jerry Lewis, followed by the worst of Jackie Gleason and Woody Allen, followed by the worst of Lon Chaney, Jr.
-
Yeah, to me the earlier Jerry Lewis films, where he yells, makes idiotic noises, and plays the part of a severely **** boy, are not funny. His later films were better.

What is this, "Stoopid film night"?
-
They could have put it on at 3 AM, which is where they put a lot of movies that people here have specifically requested.
I'm already fed up with the lousy February schedule, and now we are in another month in which TCM is showing a bunch of junk movies.
These movies are cheap to rent and that's why they are showing them.
-
Has anyone been watching any of these lousy movies on TCM tonight? What is this, the "Worst Movies Ever Made" night?
-
This is a stupid movie that's not interesting or funny. It's certainly not a "classic". Why is TCM showing it, other than it being cheap to rent?

I can't remember where I saw Monte's movie, but I think it was on the old AMC maybe 10 or 15 years ago or more.

The Monte movie starred the guy who impersonated General Montgomery for the British secret service during the war.

Well, maybe the Poles were like the Americans, with lots of light chit chat during battles.

Yes, and that was a very understated scene. He didn't have to say anything. The skies were clear and that was the end of the battle. They won. Yay!

I think so. Again, understated. No loud John Wayne types.

Was that the one about the spherical bombs that bounced on the water until they hit the dams? I saw that.
Did you ever see, "I Was Monte's Double"? A great film about an actor who looked just like Monte. In fact, he played himself in the movie. Very interesting film, and all mostly true. I haven't seen it in years.
-
I liked it too. Not as noisy as American war movies.

It's very good. I taped it a few years ago. Good spy movie.

It's not a "guess."
Many of the famous movie quotes posted here can be found in a simple Google search using a portion of the quote itself. For example, go to Google and type in:
"on the battlefield, no uniforms, completely nude"
Include the quote marks, and Google will tell you the movie the quote is from.

Dave Garroway was the first host of NBC's "Today" show, starting on the air around 1952. It was the first early-morning NBC show.

You might ask a friend who already has one to show you how it works.
Cheap VCRs cost about $59 or $69 where I live.
You might need a couple of cables to hook it up to your TV and cable or satellite box.

If you aren't a technical type person, tape would be easier for you.
A problem with DVD disks is the vast number of different disk types which might be confusing to you.
With tape, all VHS video tapes fit all standard VHS tape machines. Buy any VHS tape (6 hour or 8 hour) and you are ready to go.

The Sniper will be on again early in the morning of Wed. March 14th.

Yes, that was an extraordinary scene. One of the best in all of film history. Both Joan and Walter had ?converted?, but in opposite directions. Walter?s face reminded me of some of the scenes from the ?Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? movies.

They did run one Mr. Moto about a year or two ago, with Ricardo Cortez.

Naaa. We all are friends here and sometimes we go off on one kind of rant or another. I'm famous for "The End is Near" rant, which no one will let me forget.

Lol, we all really do need to get together somewhere for a national convention of board members. Like in a big spooky old house or in an old resort on a lake during a thunder storm.

When you think of African-American women, you think of watermelons??
Hmm, I think of Egyptian Queens.
