Thanks, but it wasn't House on Haunted Hill. I have that movie. In the one that I can't remember, the main character's fear about his dream gets the other characters telling stories about weird things that have happened to them. I remember that there was a teenage girl in it that he remember slapping in his dream and he told her. Her mother makes her leave before he even seems to want to hit her and she is disappointed. After he decides that he has to kill the psychiatrist the movie gets kind of strange and it seems like a bunch of unrelated things happen and that was when he hits the girl even though she was no longer there. This movie is going to drive me nuts. I have read the descriptions of all the movies Elisha Cook Jr. made that are listed here and on IMDb and I didn't see anything similar. I saw this movie about 20 years ago right after my family bought a satellite dish. I do appreciate the responses though.

I don't know a lot about her, but that she was a contemporary of Judy Garland. The only movie I have seen with her is "Lady on a Train". I liked it. I think I first saw it on TCM and you can rent it from Netflix.

There is a movie that was in black and white and I think it starred Elisha Cook, Jr. as a man who visits a house and becomes frightened. He said he's had a dream or something about the house and the people in it and he thinks something bad will happen if he stays. There is a psychiatrist, and some other people, in the house, and when the man tries to leave, the psychiatrist convinces him to stay and face his fears. Then the people in the house tell different stories, which are acted out. Everyone but the man and the psychiatrist leave and then the man says that he has an uncontrollable urge to kill the psychiatrist. Then he wakes up and drives to the house and we are where we were when the movie started. Anyone have any ideas on what this movie was called, or if Elisha Cook was in it?

What is this movie, and was Elisha Cook in it?
