  1. Newbie perhaps but as a long time fan of older movies (1940s to 1960s), I'm as entitled to "strong" opinions as any one here. What I meant by "punk-ish" is the tough guy persona that Sinatra always seems to affect, i.e. acting like a "punk". It never came off as believable to me. Little man's bluster, in my opinion.
  2. Jean Arthur : annoying voice Tony Franciosa : smug pr*ck John Cassavetes : another smug pr*ck Jane Russell : just don't like her looks (trailer trash?) Frank Sinatra : punk-ish James Stewart : because, awshucks Actors I used to like but can't stand anymore: Peter Sellers Actors I could never stomach: Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Mel Gibson, Chevy Chase. P.S. Marlon what's-his-name

  6. Here are a few for your pitchforking consideration: Frederick Fairlie (John Abbott) in "The Woman in White" (1948) Stawski (Simon Oakland) in "The Sand Pebbles" (1966) Torvald (Jack Palance) in "Barabbas" (1961) Clara Thornhill (Jessie Royce Landis) in "North By Northwest" (1959) Tom Ripley (Alain Delon) in "Purple Noon" (1960) Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) in "Gladiator" (2000) and from TV: Officer Carl Levitt (Ron Carey) in "Barney Miller:" TV Series (1975-1982) Major Frank Burns (Larry Linville) in "M.A.S.H." TV Series (1972-1983) Kir
