The Post an Interesting Pic thread

Look at all that hair! Minnie's boys in the early days. I love pictures like this. -
I like the movie Leviathan. The effects are...meh. But the ending makes no sense. The stars are rescued and no one was suppose to be looking for them. And the creature Peter Weller kills at the end looks very bad. Just close ups and growling noises. Next: Your favorite actor's worst movie

Charles Boyer Next: Your favorite end credits song

Vera Miles, because she was originally cast to play the part. Next: National Velvet - Mickey Rooney

Great pick!) Does this count? -
I love the movie Crocodile Dundee! For a sweet romantic comedy, with a touch of action, the soundtrack is amazing. It's very 80's with an outback feel to it. I would love to own it. Well done, Peter Best.

There is an episode of Star Trek called 'Wink of an Eye' where time for Kirk is sped up. He moves so fast that no one can see him, and when he speaks all the crew hears is a buzzing. I heard Robert Conrad say in a commentary the writers of that episode plagiarized it from The Wild, Wild West. Sure enough, on his show there was an episode called 'The Night of the Burning Diamond', which is basically the same idea. West and Gordon drink an elixir and become invisible because they are moving so fast. The villain, who has also drank the elixir and stolen a priceless diamond, makes authorities think they have stolen the diamond.

NAME A SCREEN CHARACTER YOU'D LOVE TO PITCHFORK
Rudy's Girl replied to TomJH's topic in General Discussions
I HATE whiny characters more than the actual villains. Case in point... Carol Baker in The Big Country. She had Gregory Peck for God's sake! A wealthy and respectable gentleman with values. And all SHE cares about is how he is looked upon by her father and friends and how it affects her reputation. If she could just get him to fight somebody to prove his "manliness" she would be happy. On a side note, I think she winds up with Charlton Heston, who is just as good in my book. She still wins!!! ๐ -
I saw this interview a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. They were promoting The Wild, Wild West Revisited, which I also liked.
-
Really? That is cool. ๐ Could I ask how?
-
Oh no. ๐ข I can't believe it. Why is it when we lose a famous actor, another one soon follows? I loved The Wild, Wild West TV show. I hate to say it, but Ross Martin was my favorite part of the show. I also loved him in that episode of Columbo. He did his part well. Columbo hated him and actually displayed anger, which was usual, and I wanted him to get him in the end. I wonder if there is truth to the Rule of Three. Are we going to lose another?

I just watched Stephen King's Children of the Corn.

The Great Escape. Bartlett: "I'm going to cause such a terrible stink in this... Third Reich of theirs, that thousands of troops that could well be employed at the front will be tied up here looking after us." Ramsey: "How?" Bartlett: "By putting more men out of this... "perfect" camp of theirs than have ever escaped before. Oh, not blitzing out two or three or a dozen, but two hundred, three hundred. Scatter them all over Germany." I am so naive I never thought of a double meaning. I feel kinda dumb now. I guess I could have titled this 'Climaxes That Can't Be Topped'.
-
Either Paul Newman or Dustin Hoffman Next: Your favorite silent star that was also successful in talkies
-
I had to look them up because I wasn't sure which ones were. I would say Mister Roberts. Next: Your favorite James Bond movie

The only thing I hated about this movie was the stupid end of the climax where they strap themselves inside the tornado. They would be hanging pieces of meat from the debris alone. Aside from that it's a great scene.
-
I've noticed older movies didn't really have much falling action. It was the climax and then 'The End'. So in some movies the ending is also the climax. An example would be Little Caesar. Edward G. Robinson gets shot, says his last words, and that's the end.
-
There is 'Best Endings and Beginnings in Film History' and 'Best Fight Scenes in Movie History', so I thought it would be fitting to post a topic on climaxes that can't be improved on. They can be action-packed, suspenseful, scary, or romantic. Any climax that made the movie better and sticks out in your mind. I didn't even have to think to come up with this one. The Untouchables has to be one of my favorite gangster movies for many reasons.
