  1. "My only questions -- NOT having watched!!! -- are: was the composer of the soundtrack of the Brad Pitt movie the same guy who composed the soundtrack to "Brokeback" last year? And, if so, did he win??? Hope so; great artist. " Yes. He won. CharlieT
  2. Not only are the plots similar, but the dialogue is almost word for word identical. I prefer the Cary Grant/Deborah Kerr version, as does my wife. Fortunately, I've never seen the Warren Beatty version. We also enjoy Sleepless in Seattle for its numerous references to An Affair to Remember. The music ain't bad either. CharlieT
  3. Orchestra Wives (1942) George Montgomery Ann Rutherford Glenn Miller Lynn Bari CharlieT
  4. At the Ball, That's All was the one at the beginning that they danced to. On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine was performed later inside the saloon and the Dixie song was at the end. As a kid, I always got a kick out of Stan singing Lonesome Pine in the full bass voice and, after being conked on the head by Ollie, finishing as a soprano. CharlieT
  5. Must not have been too hard! You are true, BLU! CharlieT
  6. Thanks, vallo. Here's an easy one. TB GC JG WH CharlieT
  7. The Turning Point (1952) William Holden Edmond O'Brien Alexis Smith Ed Begley
  8. I was going to say Ray Liotta, but he's just 6' exactly. Just carry on as if nothing happened. CharlieT
  9. From Staceylucy's synopsis, dianabat is correct. It is Move Over Darling. It was Chuck Conners of The Rifleman TV series fame that was taking the dive at the hotel swimming pool. I prefer the original, My Favorite Wife with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. Bryan Keith was the co-star of Parent Trap along with Maureen O'Hara, Haley Mills and... Haley Mills. This might be where the confusion came from. CharlieT
  10. Hi, Superteach. The movie your are talking about is My Six Loves and stars Debbie Reynolds. Here is a link with the details: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057341/ Welcome to the boards. CharlieT
  11. Nevermind... Spader was born in Boston.
  12. Without any research at all, I'm going to guess... James Spader?
  13. I imagine they meant it was dated from 32 B.C. - that would make sense. Unless those AOL people are on something. If CineSagejr was here, I'm sure he could sort it out. Charlie(extremely quizzical)T
  14. Cleopatra on a coin dated 32 B.C. How could it be dated 32 B.C.? Was it minted by a seer who foretold of the birth of Christ? :0 Charlie(amazed)T
  15. I'll Be Seeing You is also played over the closing credits to Baby Blue Marine, a color movie from the 80's starring Jan Michael Vincent and Glynis O'Conner. But since it is a newer color film, I didn't think it was the movie in question. CharlieT
  16. Maybe Bartlett was thinking Dan Akroyd in Trading Places and got mixed up. CharlieT
  17. I think Mose knows! CharlieT
  18. It sounds like a made for TV movie called "The Girl Most Likely To.." starring Stockard Channing. She was in a car accident and the combination of physical therapy and necessary plastic surgery transformed her into the new beautiful version of herself. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070112/ Sadly, the ugly version looked a lot like my high shool art teacher. CharlieT
  19. My Favorite Year? The alcohol references seem to go with the theme of this one. CharlieT
  20. Very good, Mr. Miller. You're right on the mark. Your turn. CharlieT
  21. Not only sounded like Woodstock, but looked a lot like it when I was watching it last night. You rock, CSJ! Go! CharlieT
