  1. The little guy was probably Charles Martin Smith (Terry the Toad of American Graffitti) who played a government official from SETI who couldn't seem to get anyone to listen to him. Guess he got the last laugh. CharlieT
  2. OK. Here's a quickie. This movie had hundreds of thousands of unpaid "extras." It starred some of the most famous celebrities of its day, although most never made another movie. The majority of the film was shot over a three-day period. What movie am I? CharlieT
  3. Of course. It's one of my favorites. I grew up waiting up on Friday nights for Chiller Theater to see all of the old B & W Frankenstein movies. They're even more fun to watch now... we can look for all of the reference points for Mel Brooks's spoofs. My daughter and I also like the "walk this way" running gag that Brooks incorporated in nearly all of his satirical send-ups. The only other movie we exhange dialogue from more than Young Frankenstein is A Christmas Carol. Sad, ain't it? CharlieT
  4. Also, An Affair to Remember and Sleepless In Seattle. And While You Were Sleeping. CharlieT
  5. Robert Benigni - La Vita e bella Billy Bob Thornton - Sling Blade Woody Allen - Annie Hall Sylvester Stallone - Rocky CharlieT
  6. The first two were easy. Finding the other two will be harder. CharlieT
  7. I wasn't really offering a line in my response. It's just my daughter's and my way of gibing each other. One of us offers the lead line and the other answers. I don't really expect to win any of these challenges, but to butt in every now and then keeps me happy. CharlieT
  8. It was a good one for me. I knew it right away. Unfortunately, I been busier than a flea-picker at at dog ranch. Only 3 hours late. "Could be worse." "How could it possibly be worse?" "Oh, I don't know... could be raining". CharlieT
  9. It's not at all old, but it is funny and a thriller - The Frighteners with Michael J. Fox. Overall, I'd have to agree with The Ghostbreakers and it's remake, Scared Stiff. CharlieT
  10. I hear there's already a tell-all book about his misspent youth in California coming out. It's called San Francisco Sourdough. At least it has a nice dedication by Betty Crocker.
  11. Now, to be fair, us guys and gals guessed right away. We just didn't guess right. How about Sam Ash? CharlieT
  12. Well, I thought I had a lead with the painter clue. Andy Warhol had some famous paintings and directed Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of. Unfortunately, the only actor listed on IMDb that had enough appearances to qualify was Dennis Hopper - and he isn't old enough to have acted with all of those famous names from his "early days." It didn't say anything about him having a sister either, although, at 5'9", he could have been shorter than her. The search continues. CharlieT
  13. "I know that's really stupid, but... " If you only had a brain! Just kidding. Have a heart! CharlieT (Oh, de noive!)
  14. Definitely not American Graffiti - just watched it the other day. Possibly Hollywood Knights? Maybe one of the Porky's movies? I don't think it's More American Graffiti. Good luck in your search. CharlieT
  15. George Macready/MacReady/McCready?
  16. "People Will Talk is a ,,,thinly veiled attack on McCarthyism. " Personally, I don't care. I just like the movie. Besides, I never liked Charlie McCarthy much anyway. I'm more of a Mortimer Snerd fan. CharlieT
  17. You think - therefore you are... correct! Carry on, my wayward son. CharlieT
