  1. Just for fun: Robert Armstrong to Richard Dreyfuss CharlieT
  2. No need to apologize. No, it's not Walter Brennan. There are only 2 qualifications for participating here. A computer and a willingness to have fun. One of my best known performances came as a member of an ensemble of unknowns (with one notable exception) who went on to become very well known in movies and television. In another, I survived while my character died in the book it was based on. There! That ought to be enough to give this one away. CharlieT
  3. Here's a quickie while Dan reloads. I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Southern California, but many people think that I'm Canadian. I been in numerous TV series as a non-repeating character and one as the main character, but my fame came in the cinema. I've portrayed high schoolers and older characters. I've played actors, scientists, musicians, politicians, salesmen and doctors. I am an Oscar winner of note, having once held a particular distinction in that concern. I am a member of a small group of actor's that share a common connection with two well known directors. I know. Very vague for anyone except Dan. Check out the "Who Am I" I left on the "Trivia Quiz for Beginners" thread - it's easy, too. CharlieT
  4. norbell, I think you got it. Ricky Nelson was on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. He played a cowboy with John Wayne in Rio Lobo (?) His song Garden Party came from his experiences at a rock and roll revival show at Madison Square Garden His brother, Dave, produces television and movies His brother-in-law was Mark Harmon who is on NCIS It all fits. I think you've got it. By George, I think you've got it! But, then again, that's not my call. How about it, Dan?
  5. Nope, not Ronald Reagan. Although I gained international fame, my personal life had it's ups and downs. My twin brother, Charlie, died when we were nine. In spite of my fame, I was never considered well-off financially. In most of my movies, I was either uncredited or my role was so small that my fans try to find me just for fun. I did have dialogue (only a word or two) in one movie that most everyone on these boards has seen. And, this may be the giveaway, I had a town in the United States named after me. Once again, who am I? CharlieT
  6. Happy birthday, Lynn. Hope you had your birthday suit cleaned and pressed for the occassion. CharlieT
  7. I saw it a couple of times on Flix in the past few months. With the way they repeat the movies they show, it's possible it could roll around again before the summer. If you get Flix, keep your eyes on their schedule. CharlieT
  8. There's been some consternation about this thread remaining inactive for so long. Although it is not my turn, I am willing to try to kick start it again. I appeared in more than 50 films with actors such as Gary Cooper, Errol Flynn, Walter Brennan, Bob Hope, Spencer Tracy, Gene Lockhart, Barbara Stanwyck, Bing Crosby, Edward Arnold, Joe E. Brown, Robert Young, Fay Wray and Dorothy Lamour. In spite of rubbing elbows with all of these famous names, I was internationally famous in another field of endeavor. I was even the subject of a well-known bio-pic. Who am I? CharlieT
  9. Well, I'm sort of out of the loop here, but wasn't Big Julie's suicide a suicide by committee? CharlieT
  10. To Kinston The Little Princess King Kong How Green Was My Valley CharlieT
  11. Leo Carillo played Pancho in The Cisco Kid with Duncan Renaldo. Lorne Greene was in Bonanza. They were both filmed westerns. Could Hume Cronyn have been in a "live" presentation with a western motif? CharlieT
  12. Hello and a Halto hat tip to you, Carol. I just noticed... today's my 1 year anniversary on these boards. Imagine that! Today's trivia - where's Dan? CharlieT
  13. Indeed it would. Hopefully this little hiatus allowed someone to come up with something really special. That someone would be you, dan. CharlieT
  14. I've never seen it, but could it be "Duel" with Dennis Weaver? CharlieT
  15. "You're wrong. Try again." I knew this would be the first guess. That's why I gave the above answer. This actress fit the same scenario, so I knew it would be fun to ask it. She appeared in her last movie in 1959. It is a well known coming-of-age film. The rest of her career was spent in TV or on Broadway. Her portrayal as a Cratchit child was a television appearance and was her first. It predated her movie career which consisted of 3 films. Try again. CharlieT
  16. Sounds like you might be mixing up the plots of "Operation Petticoat" and another Cary Grant film "Kiss Them for Me." Put the two movies together and it would resemble your synopsis. Or it could be something else altogether. Don't ask me... I'm just here for the beer. CharlieT
  17. "Got one, Bill? Nope - feel free, anyone." OK. Here's one to fill the time a little. I'm a red-headed actress who once played one of Bob Cratchit's children, but gained my greatest fame as a TV mom. You're wrong. Try again. CharlieT
  18. "A Guy Named Joe"... Who'd a thunk it? CharlieT
  19. Then there's Showboat (the Irene Dunne version.) And wasn't The Poseidon Adventure set at New Year's Eve? CharlieT
  20. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days of auld lang syne. For auld lang syne, my friend, For auld lang syne. We'll take a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne. Happy New Year, mongo. CharlieT
  21. Three obivious ones... well, two obvious and one to boot. Holiday Inn The Horns Blows at Midnight Forrest Gump CharlieT
  22. Bruce Willis (Butch) to Maria de Madeiros (Fabienne) in Pulp Fiction. CharlieT
