  1. Funny, I responded on the other thread (Best Western) before checking this one out. Just watched "Liberty Valance" last night. Enjoyed it thoroughly. I saw "The Cowboys" at the theater when it first came out and was surprised at Wayne's death in the film. My favorite scene is the one in which the boys are drinking and getting drunk for the first time. Wayne and Browne are eavesdropping on them and reminiscing on their own "first time" experiences as youths. Loved "The Searchers." Very tough, no-nonsense Wayne. But I'm afraid my all-time favorite Wayne film isn't a western. It's "The Quiet Man." I don't think I'm alone in this, either. CharlieT
  2. Hi, Inglis. I watched "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" last night. Classic Wayne without his usual supporting cast. Strother Martin comes off as a real psycho. Some may pick this film apart artistically, but I liked it. CharlieT
  3. Eddie Murphy in "Trading Places?"
  4. The TCM movie database list about 50 actor/actresses names in the credits and none of them are Victor Buono, so I doubt if it was him. Unfortunately, I didn't see the movie, so I have no idea which on the list is the one you are referring to. If you want to check it out, just click on the movie database link at the top of the page, in the search box choose title and type Glory Alley below it. When the movie comes up, click on the title, go to the end of the list of actor/actresses names and click on the entire cast and crew link. I would think this character would be included in the list. Good luck and good hunting. CharlieT
  5. Just a thought, and I may be way off base here, but if the listing is for EDT at 1:30 AM, then wouldn't the PDT time listing actually fall on the previous day, since it would be before midnight there? Although that wouldn't fit the scenario you mentioned (unless you live in the PDT zone, and I'm assuming that Sierra Madre is,)it could explain multiple days for one listing. CharlieT
  6. Males easier to train? What is this.. some kind of sexist remark? I don't think that gender has anything to do with.... Sorry, got to go. My wife's calling. Yes, dear. Be right there. CharlieT
  7. My favorite Best Western is the one off Rt. 7. Seriously, I always enjoyed "The Unforgiven" with Burt Lancaster and Audrey Hepburn. For modern westerns, my favorite is "Silverado." CharlieT
  8. Mother Wore Tights is airing on FMC in about half an hour from now. Hope you fans get a chance to see it. CharlieT
  9. Orchestra Wives on at 12 noon today on FMC. Hope you get to see it. CharlieT
  10. I've heard several poster say how much they love this movie and want to see it. GOOD NEWS!!!! If you're up this early, it's coming on FMC at 10 AM EDT. I know this is short notice - that's why I'm posting this here instead of in the "Musicals" forum or elsewhere that may be more appropriate. Also, good news for Glenn Miller fans. MWT is followed at noon by "Orchestra Wives." CharlieT
  11. Even if it's not the right one, I think you will enjoy the show. Let us know how you like it. And be honest. If you don't, that's OK, too. CharlieT
  12. Was it Tom Sawyer in the little known sequel to his "Adventures of..." titled "Mr. Thatcher's New Shotgun?" If it's not that, then I don't know.
  13. I didn't watch the documentary. I prefer Nat King Cole's version, myself. CharlieT
  14. I loved The Majestic. Can't get my daughter to watch it, though. Atypical Jim Carrey vehicle. Not a B/W film, so probably not the one in question. CharlieT
  15. This is the Sandra Dee thread. Your question on Frances Dee was still unanswered the last time I looked. Incidentally, I don't know who Frances Dee is either. This message was much more eloquent the first four times I tried to post it and got error messages. CharlieT (with crossed fingers.)
  16. Try this again. Inglis, I think you caught the wrong thread. This is the Sandra Dee thread. Your question on Frances Dee was still unanswered on the other thread the last time I looked. Incidentally, I don't know who Frances Dee is either. CharlieT

    Topper movie

Didn't find one with Stepnfetchit, but Topper Returns features Eddie "Rochester" Anderson as a black chauffeur. Could this be the one you were thinking of? CharlieT
