I really like this version of that
Off The Wall is an almost perfect record. I owned Thriller but by the time I did, it didn't matter. It was everywhere. I always thought higher of Off The Wall (now, the only MICHAEL I listen to).
Well... I listen to this at YouTube once in awhile :

It's from the Indecent Proposal soundtrack.
Not a cover version I would have expected... and yes, the original is a favorite of mine... If you like 10cc the album that's from The Original Soundtrack is unusual and very good.

Yes. I still like the original best.
What album? I didn't know PRETENDERS covered that.

Cosmic Thing was a reinvention album for the band after the death of their leader Ricky Wilson (and brother to singer Cindy)
Indeed. No one expected it.

Same here. I've always loved this song. I like The Pretenders' version of the song, too.
THE PRETENDERS? You are referring to "I'm Not In Love"?

^ I really like The B52s, and though I always loved the first album, Cosmic Thing to me was an unexpected achievement and my own favorite album of theirs!

I'm 24 hours away from hearing this live and in-person. I just hate that Charlie won't be there, too.
Where?

I'm impressed. ULTIMATE SPINACH ... never owned a record of theirs... in that era, one of the few bands it seems NOT from California ...

The Innocents is a surprisingly good 1961 psychological horror film too, starring Deborah Kerr. I never knew about it until I caught it on TCM back in 2018. Also Like The Haunting and The Legend of Hell House
... But better...

I like that Carnival of Souls leaves unanswered questions.
That often works best with scary stories.

The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
I like that movie but was unable to watch it tonight.
I also love CARNIVAL OF SOULS and have owned it on VHS and DVD for decades... I even have the wonderful soundtrack (organ music by GENE MOORE - who?)...
Here's a short film favorite available at YouTube :

I would've been surprised to read that you remembered the Bobbie Gentry version, Allhallowsday: I think of you having been a little Willy Wonka kid in the early 1970s.
Like Willie Wonka only in character... but yes, a kid, though I remember DIONNE's version of that song because it was a hit record and my mother did like Pop radio... Now BOBBIE's version was a huge hit in the UK, but did not dent US charts.

Again, the first listen often gets the nod.
That makes sense, since it was JIMI's "Little Wing" before I took interest in CLAPTON...
However! Though I grew up loving DIONNE WARWICK and still do, it's BOBBIE GENTRY's "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" that I love best... and I didn't hear it back in the day and I always loved her...
