I think this film requires a commitment to be prepared to sit through it. Then, it may be hypnotic. -

I'm listening to the soundtrack again. -

Back in the vinyl days, (here comes my hyperbole again) everybody seemed to have a copy of DONOVAN'S GREATEST HITS!

Too bad. It's a great film. -

Ditto; I think the character was dubious at best, so O'NEAL (though too old) was still perfectly cast. -

Yes, but that was hardly the only thing "remarkable" about it... many commented also on its length! -

I think that's why I like it... long motionless sequences ... I don't think I agree, but his casting in this film is perfection. He is the perfect cad. -

Seventies movies where the cast is all dead
Allhallowsday replied to skimpole's topic in General Discussions
Please forgive my bad taste, but I immediately thought of GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE (1972). All 3 of the principles have died MICHAEL PATAKI, LYNN PETERS, and most recently WILLIAM SMITH. The movie is trash and seventies sleaze Horror at its cheesiest. Lots of fun for the 70s Horror fan! -
I suppose then you've been subject to constructive criticism? I don't know that people would respond to criticism well, however it is characterized.

BARRY LYNDON (1975) on TCM 4:45pm EST TODAY - the only RYAN O'NEAL film I love.
-
I love that whole record. Speaking of Crosby, Stills, and Nash, this one is probably my sentimental favorite:

I bought my friend a greatest hits collection of BREAD for his birthday this pastJuly.
-
I have a collection of his hits. I like JACK JONES and those tunes.
-
Uh huh.
-
Not at all. Emboldened, eh? Very well. Not no fan of TINY TIM but I'll own that too if I need to. I responded to your remark. You are the pot calling the kettle black.
-
I don't think I'm "heavy-handed" but I will own opinionated.
-
Start with yourself. You're the critic. I just don't agree they have it over TINY.

TINY's version with GARY LAWRENCE is a wonderful piece of music, that BOB & RAY was only funny for a moment... and my mother used to listen to BOB & RAY (I think I've still got some vinyl of theirs... like Mary Backstage Noble Wife...)

JEFF BECK has some great records... and artists he worked with! That being said Bolero is the most popular and least among RAVEL's work (he disliked it himself). "Beck's Bolero" ain't no better.

Vlado Perlemuter Plays Ravel (1962) : I was delighted to find this on CD. I was introduced to RAVEL piano music from a vinyl box set of these recordings. Before I owned this on CD, I found the 1978 revisit to the RAVEL piano oeuvre (it's better and 1962 is perfection). RAVEL VLADO interpretations (no one else's) top my list of greatest music recordings.

CSN is a wonderful album.
