I thought that was SWEET. I had to look it up. BOWIE was the only real UK Glam act with significant USA success. USA Glam acts usually tanked (JOBRIATH and BRETT SMILEY immediately come to mind). You know your SWEET well. I actually really like them but haven't got much.

Hell yeah. It fascinates me, Glam Rock particularly since it was huge in the UK but spotty stateside... think BOWIE or SWEET and ROXY MUSIC or T.REX... spotty or little USA success.
-
What's fascinating to me was how that song sounds just like British Glam Rock of the early 70s... I listen to that type of Rock often. I think the record was #1 there and elsewhere but tanked stateside.

Fascinating. I am a big ALEX CHILTON fan. Not surprised RAY, another great songwriter, would also be.

I got a notice that someone responded to remarks I made nearly 10 years ago about this video... it was the orchestra leader who responded!

I do that often...

Hope that's a good thing...! 😀

I love all of their records with only Coda being the one I listen to the least... even less (as in never) than LED ZEP's crowning achievement: IV ... lots called it the "runes" album back in the day. I like the first one best too, think the 2nd is "thee" classic LED ZEP, III is maybe my 2nd favorite... but probably listen to Presence most often...

I only have Disraeli Gears uploaded, but for CREAM I wish I had Wheels Of Fire...

It is worth pointing out that these reactions do seem to be the modus operandi for this forum. New members join and such people may be inspired to join because they have a complaint. That does not make a complainer a troll.

I think of them as Southern Rock which is not the same for me... POCO were good, they do sound like EAGLES of course...
-
I'd include RICK NELSON as a prominent name that was part of and influenced by the Bakersfield Sound. Yeh, I've liked BUCK OWENS and MERLE HAGGARD as long as I liked great records.
