You won't recognize TCM three months from now.

10? Rage? The Hot Rock? Super Cops?

These "classics" never would have been shown on the old TCM, but on the new TCCM, HEY! Anything goes! Just call it "Classic".

It's only going to get worse.

TCM is dead. Long live TCM!

I thought TCM had show THE HOT ROCK numerous times.  I caught a few moments of 10, and laughed at what I saw.  RAGE I had never seen and watched only a small part; I did not care for it.  SUPER COPS I think they've shown before.   None are particularly novel for the channel as far as content.

Now.  All of the movies you mentioned are hardly offensive, welcome to catch a glimpse of and thank goodness they weren't the usually over-repeated showings.  Who decides what's classic?  Heck!  Each film you mention is at least 40 years old...!   What's the criteria?

Well, Taylor moans that southern California makes him feel blue.

Seems to me that his feelings for The Golden State aren't . . . golden.

He is nice to listen to... never bought a record of his.   He is a bit nasal...

Or say, if you wish to extend posthumous birthday greetings to a particular actor by titling  the thread "Hud", then we all might think the thread is either about the movie, or at least about Paul Newman.

...or PATRICIA NEAL... or BRANDON DeWILDE or MELVYN DOUGLAS...

Why not create one big birthdays-related thread.

And cover all the Cathys, Heathcliffs, TomsDicksandHarrys together.

    Just a thought!

We have that over at Badmovies.  I admit, I didn't realize right away with all that thar deference who's birthday it was...

  5. I have cool one-of-a-kind snapshots that are not from public events, but backyard pool parties or lunch dates or get togethers where the likes of RICK NELSON or TONY DOW or BOB DENVER or KENT McCORD or GRANT WILLIAMS turned up, nice clear peeks at real living that are also great candids... in case anybody wants to break in and steal these value-less treasures, I also have a ring that looks like a diamond but is a diamelle... have at it!  :D

Do you mean how the LGBTQ crowd is persecuted, rejected, and reviled by "mainstream," "normal" society? If that's what you mean, that brand of prejudice has been going on since the Dawn of Man.

All brands of prejudice have been going on since the Dawn of Man.  America has been aware of its own prejudices through all of its history.  It is, however, about timing, relevance, and truth.  We are getting there.

Never heard of Cosmic Dealer. Thanks for the introduction.

If you are a record lover of that era, you might enjoy checking it out at YouTube.  I really like it.  It's so stupidly inept and a huge waste.

    Prescient in what way, Allhallowsday?

Prescient in the way she responded to how she was addressed by the media at the time, as she also un-popularly addressed racism... with the monkey puppets popping out of a mushroom, just like she had done at the beginning of the video...  "You kill me for living my life."   It foretells our time of "wokeness".

One of the great pleasures of viewing films from the studio system days is the joy in spotting certain character actors in support. We all have our favourites and long one of the faces that I most enjoyed seeing was laughing, jovial Alan Hale

JOSEPH CALLEIA... ALAN MOWBRAY... MELVILLE COOPER... and ALAN HALE!!!   HALE appeared in a few of ERROL FLYNN's of course... what a splendid pair!
