  1. I'm listening to my End of Summer mix which includes :
  2. THE DAY MARS INVADED EARTH (1963) last night on TBS I think starting at 3am it ran until 4:15am but I conked out at about 3:45... I've seen it before, it's dreadfully dull... yet, I have become interested in the "estate" it was filmed at (fascinating... with a BRICK pool...?) but most of all I hadn't realized I had been looking at MARIE WINDSOR the first time or two I'd seen this fascinating BORE.
  3. RICKY NELSON Ricky Nelson (EP pictured is the same cover as the album):
  4. I haven't seen that, though you're right, MERCEDES is good at crazy... her specialty!
  5. BURL IVES performance as Big Daddy is the reason I find that film mesmerizing.
  6. THE V.I.P.s is a dumb movie... was ORSON WELLES in need of a paycheck to play Max Buda... Yes. "Max Buda"... yuk yuk . I think it was a big financial success. LOUIS JORDAN as Mark Champselle (what was that? what was that noise...?) goes into the "mod" room nodding his head approvingly..."very nice...very nice..."
  7. THE BIG COUNTRY has great performances in it, but I can't say it's a favorite (though BURL is always a pleasure - particularly as a villain). THE FURIES is like a Noir Western. I own the DVD.
  8. I watched much more of THE OMEN last night than I expected to. I had forgotten how that film is drenched in bad taste. Unlike THE EXORCIST which is shockingly tasteLESS (it's also masterful)... THE OMEN is only a lame knockoff.
  9. ... I'd be one of those... I strongly disliked that TIM BURTON DARK SHADOWS...
  10. BURL IVES and CHUCK CONNORS always come to mind with that film... terrific cast!
  11. The only record of theirs I HAD to own and the only record of theirs I HAVE to own.
  12. Cool. I only listened to a lot more PINK than YES, but live STEVE HOWE was... stunning. I've seen a lot of shows, and that was one of the good ones! All that Prog Rock commentary made me choose this tonight : PINK FLOYD Meddle
  13. I saw YES at the Spectrum in Philadelphia around 1990... all former members participated... two drum sets, two keyboardists... No DAVE GILMOUR for most interesting Prog Rock guitarist...?
  14. Probably my favorite LIVE album: JEFFERSON AIRPLANE Bless Its Pointed Little Head I wrote a brief review 4 years ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1CCSHGSJABU5K?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp
