  1. Here's a link to a review I wrote for this album 15 years ago : https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RD7JZ5QAQUIUS?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp
  2. THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS Burrito Deluxe
  3. THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS The Gilded Palace Of Sin
  4. Though I LOVE ROGER LIVESEY, JAMES MASON must be my favorite British actor. Fearless, dependable, talented.
  5. I read he was difficult to work with. He certainly makes an impression. He will forever be in my heart. A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN is a perfect realization of that book, even with the omissions. JAMES DUNN is stunning. And of course he is in one of the greatest SHIRLEY TEMPLE movies...
  6. Saw him last week on, of all things, The Love Boat. Kuh-rap script, his performance was wonderful! One of my favorites, of course, I love La Strada.
  7. Maybe his weakness. And dig it, wasn't her name MARVIN in that movie??? There's also that BETTE n OLIVIA one where they're sisters named... Burt n' Ernie... no, Stanley and... ?
  8. There are so many BETTE films to love, I typically forget my own secret favorite super bad-girl BETTE in the masterpiece, THE LETTER.
  9. Have you seen the feature film with ANTHONY QUINN? BTW : Welcome to the board.
  10. Or is it tribal...? I am Catholic to the core, but not religious. I connect with Catholics because they are my tribe. It is suggested the nuns are Catholic, but it's not clear to me. What is clear is that they have a fundamentalist motivation and evangelical bent.
  11. Not just a pun: a true heavyweight. The cover of People magazine the week he died had a cover pic and the words : "So long, Pal!" I was very young over 30 years ago, but choked up a bit.
  12. THE APARTMENT is a wonderful movie, maybe the only one of SHIRLEY MacLAINE I love. The entire cast is superb. Ironic, touching, thoughtful, troubling. And sweet.
  13. Interesting list. I quote this one because of the many cameos in it, my favorite being when SHELLEY WINTERS runs out of the crowd, bounces off of MAX VON SYDOW and declares: "I'm cured...! I'M CURED!" Whenever I catch that part I say to the screen..."No you're not... You're still SHELLEY WINTERS!"
  14. ERIK SATIE Piano Works (I listen to this often, but only the gnossiennes, I don't care for the well known gymnopedies.)
  15. That's very nice. And I think it's very possible that LARRY wanted any film he appeared in to reflect well on him. There is no doubt he was a pro.
  16. Yes. It also behooved him to do it. Still didn't help.
  17. Yes, but do they even publish The New Yorker anymore?
