I.e. most of the musical interest in The Beatles was Paul's bass lines, and then Ringo's drumming...
...when it wasn't the songwriting...

This is a perfect piece of music:

Similarly but much more maligned, Ringo Starr played some terrific drum fills within the context of a hugely influential band, making him a significant figure in the history of the drums.
I believe both PAUL and RINGO have received much praise for their work on each instrument.

Yeah, he's one of the good guys. I was gonna type "You're, too", but then you had to go and take another swipe at JFK!

lacked so called natural talent.
Same thing has been said about PAUL McCARTNEY as a bassist, maybe even by himself, but he has recorded some wonderful bass lines... silly song, awesome bass line:

It's only recent memory and I wanted James to see it.

don't you just hate him, Allhallowsday??
Yer funny, but no, I like him. I have noticed James has great music taste and knowledge. We also seem to agree on other topics. Like, the movie JFK is nonsense.

Impressive indeed.
Tastes are easy to develop. Now playing an instrument takes TALENT. You play guitar in a Jazz band? That takes talent! I'm impressed.

As Eucalyptus P. Millstone, seemingly a connoisseur of far reaching styles of music in his own right, already pointed out: You possess quite the expanse of listening tastes, Allhallowsday!
Okay, thanks.
Ironically, today I am listening to Opera which is the least represented in my collection. (I do have vinyl I can't listen to, including a cool boxed set with part of the demolished Opera House's curtain)! This CD is all I have: Opera's Golden Moments

I watched this within the last 12 months on TCM. The poster doesn't seem to do the story any justice. Apparently Olivier didn't like working with Monroe. I thought there were some good scenes but overall a mediocre film.
Agreed. That is the film where I realized what a HAM OLIVIER was...

Do you know how it isn't?
Only that a lot of compression of known events takes place in the movie. I suspect this was the film where STONE hoped he would NOT be accused of inaccuracy...

THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL (1957)
I am starting to like this movie. I did not sit through it, but watched the beginning and end. TCM shows it often.
This poster is absurd :

For me, the entire album
I am not a true Punk fan, but I owned a few (dozen) back in the day and some albums sink in. For me, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables immediately comes to mind. Around 1980 records went through a lot of changes, you name it. X Los Angeles was one of those remarkable memorable records.

And if you want more Stone, then you could also watch THE DOORS (1991)
If there is a VAL KILMER film I like that I could name, that's it. As far as history of THE DOORS goes, it's accurate.
If there is an OLIVER STONE film that I like that I could name, it'd be NATURAL BORN KILLERS (but that's another subject...)

Again, not what I said. The film is nonsense. That's what I said.

Yes. Multiple times.
Is it that the story has in fact been told numerous time previously that you find objectionable?
I said it was nonsense, not "objectionable".
Another member commented on OLIVER STONE's films and their dubious "history". The film offers very little as far as historical fact, but plenty of conjecture. It's nonsense.
