  1. And in the silents, it would have been DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS SR. But sound has long been here to stay and nobody can TOUCH the archetype, ERROL FLYNN, who had it all, one of the immortals!
  2. I think it was OLIVIA HAVILLAND who described a late screening of the film in which BETTE DAVIS was in attendance and she remarked to her friend OLIVIA, that she hadn't realized all those years past that ERROL was "really goot". I believe they did not get on well during production.
  3. I remember the record - but I could not have named any artists... It is ironic I was talking today with my partner about BOB CRANE had a radio show out of Los Angeles in the early '60s...
  4. Was perfect for her part in FIVE FINGERS. Directed by Joe Mankiewicz I think. Arguably, I agree. JAMES MASON was always good, probably my favorite British actor. Whatever he was in, he elevated, a superior talent.
  5. Was so wonderful, HE is "oft-overlooked". I consider him one of the bravest actors of his era. He stars in a wonderful film I saw twice on TCM: 5 FINGERS...
  6. LEONARD BERNSTEIN Igor Stravinsky- Le Sacre Du Printemps-The Firebird
  7. It was a hit record when the film was new (before the Billboard Top 40 era). I had it on 78 (maybe still) and I have a CD of Instrumental Gold... which includes it. The film was directed by CAROL REED - OLIVER REED's uncle... GREAT FILM! REED also directed ODD MAN OUT (awesome) and OLIVER! - which I love!
  8. Yes, 1963 was the year everything changed. And then, THE BEATLES.
  9. Your whole memory is wonderful... I'm a few years younger, I turned 2 years old November 1, 1963. So, I wasn't even two that summer...What a glorious summer that must have been. That's a favorite recording of NAT KING COLE. Gorgeous.
  10. I own OSSESSIONE (1943) on DVD. It's one of my favorite films.
  11. One of the reasons to like EDDIE MULLER...
  12. And I always thought it was 'cause I insisted on doing my own hair/makeup.
  13. Enough about jewels, hair, and makeup!!! What about the smart cocktail dress? http://www.joancrawfordbest.com/65isaw18oct1no2.jpg
  14. It could be argued stylistically, but the term really was appended long after "garage rock" had existed and had more to do with production and distribution to distinguish records of the same era.
  15. No, no, no, let's be fair! The wig only weighed 38 pounds and the necklace 27...!
