  1. I chose those two records because they're also "garage rock" like THE STANDELLS. Let me know if you hate or love 'em!
  2. You are not THAT young not to have heard "Dirty Water". If you love Rock n' Roll you have a lot of catching up to do. Here, I'll getcha started:
  3. Took the word right out of mouth. Meh.
  4. It could be worse. TALL STORY could've starred LAURENCE HAR... oops...
  5. THE BEACH BOYS Smiley Smile / Wild Honey
  6. Good night WILLIAM, we loved you! https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2021/07/09/william-smith-any-which-way-you-can-and-red-dawn-dead-88/7922711002/
  7. RICK IS 21 Back when I was listening to a lot of music from this era, I wrote reviews for the RICK NELSON fan club (based in UK) and remember that I was (and remain) impressed by this return to form particularly after More Songs...
  8. Back when I listened to vinyl, I did not listen to RICKY NELSON's 5th album (this one). Nowadays, I'm in the mood for smooth pop rock cocktail lounge music and listen to it the most of his records. I think I still have most of his records on vinyl. RICKY NELSON More Songs By Ricky
  9. That's the one I think of for TAYLOR that I like. It's also one of the few films I like where LANA TURNER is a centerpiece.
  10. I never understood the ROBERT TAYLOR appeal either. He's in one or two movies I think I like, but generally, meh.
  11. Well we know JANET and JOAN got the point!
  12. I admit that if it's ANTHONY PERKINS, I don't want to watch. Like LAURENCE HARVEY (who should remain nameless in certain quarters).
  13. Yes. The lady with the pile of hair, black cocktail dress, and jewels jewels jewels 'round her neck. I remembered the clingy tear at registration harpy, but lime slicin' knife poke? THAT I had forgotten... and laughed!!! Needless to say I watched most and remembered it's completely innocent sleaziness. Terrible. Loved it!
  14. Dig it! It's like entertaining paired with annoying. Or informative paired with distracting. Or Cool paired with really?
  15. Not necessarily. First, as far as LIL ABNER goes (oh brother). Second, I cannot tell you how disinclined I am to liking MUSICALS at all, and I did not like 1776 at all - for a long time - and have now "matured" enough to focus on performances and I love the performances in that film. I grew to love 1776 . It's like 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY - I hated it for years, though I've owned the soundtrack for over 40 years. Later, I grew to love that movie too.
  16. SLY & THE FAMILY STONE There's a Riot Goin' On
  17. Back on actors... THE SHOOTIST is probably my favorite JOHN WAYNE film, and I like his films! I'm soft for THE SHOOTIST... RON HOWARD, LAUREN BACALL, and it's his birthday... "what they call false spring..." I love that movie.
  18. It's not that bad. STEVE McQUEEN did have "star quality" which makes his films often interesting. Personally, I'm hard-pressed to think of a STEVE McQUEEN film I particularly like... oh yeah, THE BLOB! PAPILLON!
