JamesJazzGuitar, Actually it sometimes does. Different people read different threads for various reasons. I already got a good reply from TCM. So it does work sometimes. And regardless, I only posted 3 or 4 requests not 10 requests.
I would like to request a great documentary that Turner Classic Movies showed in the autumn of 2018, but haven't shown since. The documentary is called "Dawson City/ Frozen Time", by film maker Bill Morrison. It is a truly extraordinary documentary about the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898, in Canada's Yukon Territory, and it not only shows films of the 1898 gold rush, but it also tells the story of the Dawson City Film Find, the incredible story of how 545 of the old Hollywood Silent films along with an incredible selection of newsreels and photos were discovered in Dawson City in the Yukon, buried in a landfill and preserved by the Yukon permafrost. The documentary includes clips from many of those Silent Films and newsreels from the late 1890s and early 1900s. Many of those Silent Films were believed to be lost forever, they were the only copies left of some of some great films from the early decades of films. That documentary got fantastic reviews by the critics, and the people I know that have seen the documentary were moved and impressed by it. Dawson City/ Frozen Time is fascinating, emotionally moving, superb storytelling , and also intriguing history. Please show it again. Thanks much, that would be appreciated.
The Dawson City/ FrozenTime documentary. ply to this top In the autumn of 2018, TCM showed the incredible documentary, Dawson City/Frozen Time. That documentary was one of the most fascinating documentaries I have ever seen, it was outstanding. It is superb, unique, intriguing. It was about the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon Territory in the far northwest of Canada in the late 1890s and early 1900s. It also featured the incredible film find of old silent films and newsreels buried in the permafrost in Dawson City that was discovered while digging behind an old building in that town. The films and photos were preserved to a certain degree by the permafrost. Many of those films and newsreels were believed to have been lost. That is why it was such a unique find. Some great films from old Hollywood of the silent film era, as well as newsreels and photos of that incredible era of the late 1890s to the 1920s or so. Everyone that I know that has seen that documentary believes what I do about it. It is a great documentary. The Dawson City film find also included some films and photos of the Klondike Gold Rush itself in the late 1890s and early 2000s. Yet Turner Classic Movies has not shown it since. There are many people that I am sure would like to see it on TCM. It got great reviews from the critics, and impressed many of those in the public who saw it. Could TCM please show it again? I am sure TCM can find some time of the day or night to show it. I would appreciate it if TCM would show it and let us know when it will be showing again. Thanks, it would be much appreciated.
