  1. There are any number of 50's Warner titles they own that, to my knowledge, have never been on TCM --- "Charge At Feather River", Highway 301", "Bombers B-52", just to name a few ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  2. Jennifer Jones is featured at Greenbriar Picture Shows today, with rare photos, candids, ads, etc., plus commentary, at the link below --- http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  3. They could do twenty volumes of these pre-codes and still have plenty of good material for twenty more ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  4. Aren't all the movies on the ballot actually being released? Some of them are Amazon exclusives, from what I understand --- "Angels In The Outfield" and "Best Foot Forward" among these. http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  5. Cyd Charisse is today's "Monday Glamour Starter" at Greenbriar Picture Shows, with some rare color photos, commentary, etc. at the link below --- http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  6. Here's a link to a "Greenbriar Picture Shows" story on Linda Darnell ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/2006/03/monday-glamour-starter-linda-darnell.html
  7. If taken in the right spirit, James Dean is actually very funny in "Giant"... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  8. "Holiday Affair" with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh is terrific. If Warners does another Christmas group on DVD, I hope they'll include it. http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  9. There's a "Glamour Starter" feature on Clara Bow today at Greenbriar Picture Shows, with rare stills, original ads, and assorted images. Check the link below --- http://www.greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  10. Did TCM actually do a deal with Paramount to run the Betty Boop cartoons? http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  11. Any chance of a regular weekly hour-long program of Roach comedies? I'd watch! http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  12. I read that Ray didn't need the money. He just liked to work ... and AIP did give him the opportunity to star in and direct "Panic In Year Zero", which is a very good film. http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  13. But I wonder how many of these people are even familiar with films made before the seventies? http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  14. This one could stand a re-master on DVD, though it doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon. The present DVD, though out of print, is still good, and at least it's in the original widescreen. http://www.greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  15. "Curse Of The Demon" is great in its American release version --- greater in the original British edition. That Sony DVD is an absolute must as far as this viewer is concerned ... http://www.greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  16. I believe the Region 2 DVD is trimmed somewhat. Universal owns the negative in the US, so perhaps they'll release it eventually. They have leased it to various satellite stations, and quality has been excellent on those broadcasts. http://www.greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  17. I second the motion on Mick LaSalle's two books. They're both just great, but I'd also add Mark Vieira's books on pre-code, horror films, and George Hurrell. All wonderful, with outstanding pictures and text. http://www.greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  18. Yes, but speaking of Hal Roach, did TCM get the Charley Chase subjects? http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  19. Seeing the silent "Ben-Hur" with a live orchestra. Out of this world! http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  20. Unless the line was supposed to be "...damage suit", but you're right, it sure sounds like "damn". http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  21. Oh, for a month long TCM Vitaphone festival featuring all of the shorts that have been restored so far ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  22. I wonder if there might be a rights problem with "Room For One More", as I haven't seen it turn up anywhere in years ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  23. Ooops --- I mean Wilmer Cook ... http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  24. But it's great seeing Dwight Frye as Joel Cairo! http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
  25. Remember when CBS used to routinely cut "The Wizard Of Oz"? --- not substantially, but they were noticeable to fans. http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
