  1. What if Marilyn Monroe had starred opposite John Garfield in "The Postman Always Rings Twice" instead of Lana Turner? Would the performance have been much different? Would have she spiced it up even more than it already is? I love Lana but I almost wish Marilyn had been offered (and accepted) the role. On the other hand, what if Lana Turner had starred in "Niagara"?
  2. You're right. It's "The Star Chamber" (1983), starring Michael Douglas, Sharon Gless, and Hal Holbrook.
  3. I think that may be it! I did some searching and found that it is also known as Magnificent Sinner. Also checked under Romy Schneider. I saw 2 stills from the film and I believe you have found my movie! Thank you SO much - it's literally been about 6-7 years that I've been searching for this. Does anyone know if it's in TCM's library? I'm about to request it anyway.
  4. I remember hearing that about Gable. I've always been into Cary Grant, James Dean, & John Garfield (oh so cute!). I was pleasantly surprised to see J.G. as the star of the month for February!
  5. I've been searching for this movie title for years. It's a b&w, unsure of decade but it's probably from 30's/40's. He takes this young woman on a carriage ride and eventually they fall in love. I believe they marry, and toward the end there is a revolt/assassination attempt on him at his palace/mansion. If I remember correctly, there is a blon
  6. That is "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" (1947), starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison.
  7. I've been searching for this movie for nearly 10 years now. It's a b&w, possibly 30's/40's, set in Poland/Russia area maybe. I don't know who the stars are. Female lead was brunette, male lead seemed quite a bit older than her. From what I remember, she was at a girls school or boarding home, something of that nature. They are all informed that the Czar (?) will be coming around for a visit, and this young female ends up going on a carriage ride with him. They fall in love and marry, and toward the end of the movie there is an assassination attempt on him. If I remember correctly, there wa
