Get a digital video recorder from your cable company. I pay 8 bucks a month for it. I check over the schedule and record all the good stuff on TCM and watch it when I want to. Doesn't matter what time TCM airs it. I always have a bank of classic movies saved to watch. Rewind the good scenes and the good lines. Once you get it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

ahh whatever. you're obviously just a bigot that believes only black people know anything about black movies.
-
I take it you've never actually seen Booty Call so don't be so smug. It stars one of today's great black actors, Best Actor Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.
-
Does it get any better than 1997's comedy classic "Booty Call"?

Tell him to get a TIVO and you'll be back in business

Oops, I guess I should look at TCM's home page once in a while:
TCM West Coast Feed Begins May 1st!
Starting May 1st, TCM will have a separate feed for the western half of the country. If you're in the Eastern or Central time zones, or you're a satellite subscriber, nothing will change.
If you're a cable subscriber in the Pacific time zone, the movie start-times will be the same as they are on the east coast. This means that regular franchises like The Essentials (8PM ET) and Silent Sunday Night (12AM ET) will be the same on both coasts.
If you're a cable subscriber in the Mountain time zone, the movie start-times will be one hour later than they are on the east and west coasts.
-
I read in today's San Diego paper "Turner Classic Movies will begin running a West Coast feed on May 1, meaning that the shows will air three hours later here than on the East Coast." Is this true? I guess this means if a film airs at 8 in the east, it will air at 8 in the west.

The Wild Bunch
Don't even know if this is in the TCM library though

"Tarzan and His Mate"
Does TCM ever show this one?
-
Cool, maybe TCM can start showing 1950's stag films. Some people would consider them classics!

She presented the tribute to film noir. Either the teleprompter was having problems or she needs new contacts because she really stumbled over her lines. Excrutiating to watch. Anyone know what the problem was?

The supposedly worst movie ever made "Plan 9 from Outer Space"

TCM.com did it again. I set a reminder for "The Buddy Holly Story" which aired last night from 9:00 to 11:00 PST. So what time did TCM.com send me my reminder? 1:11 am this morning, just over 2 hours after the movie finished airing! It's now March 1st and the stooges running this web site still have not fixed this problem.
-
Get used to it. All broadcast and cable networks are going widescreen.

Give me letter boxing or give me death!
-
Does TCM ever show Giant? I don't think I've seen that on TCM.
-
How about some old 1950's "stag films". They could show them late night.

The Day the Clown Cried (1972)
The famously never released Jerry Lewis movie. Jerry Lewis plays a clown that entertains children before they are sent to the gas chambers. Jerry Lewis has the only copy locked in a private vault where he vows to keep it from ever being viewed again. He refuses to discuss the making of this film in any form.

Yeah, it used to have the movie title in the email subject line. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that feature to be added back. They either don't care about fixing the problems with the web site or are just too inept to. I mean these problems started with the new year. It's almost March and things are still screwed up.
-
They just did it again. "Nashville" was scheduled to air 9:30-12:30 PST. TCM emailed me at 12:30 on the nose. Thanks again for nothing TCM!

Ever since the web site makeover debacle started this year, the Remind Me email notification has been out of whack. This was a great feature in the past but since January, email reminders are sent after movies have started or after they've even aired completely. The TCM webmaster had been made aware of the issue and claimed this problem was fixed effective February 3 but the problem persists. I received a notification at 12:50 last night for a movie which started at 12:00. This happens all the time but I think I've figured out what the problem is. To go along with the "classic" theme of films shown on the channel, I suspect this web site is run with "classic computers" such as the 70's-80's era Radio Shack TRS-80 or 1946's vacuum-tubed speed demon ENIAC. TCM, please get some computers from this millennium and a programmer to run them who has learned something past 1950's era FORTRAN and FIX THIS PROBLEM.
-
Supposedly the reminder email issue was fixed as of Feb 3rd but it's still messed up. Reminders are still being sent late. I know I had a reminder set for a film airing at midnight PST tonight and have yet to get a reminder. When will this problem be fixed? We have been told repeatedly it has been fixed or will be fixed. TCM must have the most inept IT department on the planet.
-
Do reminders that were set prior to February 3rd need to be resubmitted? The reason I ask is I set a reminder for "Age Of Innocence" airing today Feb 6 at 10pm PST and also a reminder for "The Sea Wolf" airing Feb 7 at 8am PST and I have not gotten reminders sent to me for either.
-
Missed another movie due to the screwed up Remind Me feature. I set a reminder for Pride Of The Yankees which aired Saturday night at 9pm. TCM sent me a reminder Sunday morning at 5:38am. This whole revamping of the online schedule has been a colossal screw-up.

Yep, there's no doubt a DVR will increase your TV watching. Here's a good article about it:
