  1. What made you smile today? I'll start. (For background, I'm a prison guard). A few hours ago, I was walking around the Compound making my rounds. I was just heading into one of the Housing Units, (where the inmates are kept), when I looked on the ground and noticed that an inmate had apparently made a snow angel and drew hearts in the snow. (I'm working the minimum security area of the prison for this month). It made me smile knowing that someone had a little fun today πŸ™‚ What about you?
  2. There are several scenes in "Journey For Margaret" (1942) that get to me. There is one in particular that makes me cry every time and that's when little Margaret is first taken to the orphanage and the lady who is taking her in is assuring her that it is okay to cry. The horrible woman who took care of her before dumping her at the orphanage wouldn't let her cry over her dead parents and it's implied that she was beaten when she did. Margaret O'Brien was fantastic in this movie, even at just 5 years old. Her acting in that scene just tears your heart out.
  3. How cute! It looks like the style of today with splashes of "classic" thrown in. Very unique and beautiful. Love it! 😍
  4. There is a scene in "The Black Pirate" (1926) that has someone getting their throat cut off screen so the bad guy can retrieve a ring that the victim swallowed. It's in color and they actually show the bright, red blood. It starts at about 5:18.
  5. I think the Hershey's Christmas kisses commercial might still be running. (Well, maybe when it gets closer to Christmas πŸ™‚ ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe4IZ7aGikw
  6. As someone who works in law enforcement, that makes me sick.
  7. I was just thinking about him the other day. I used to have such a crush on him when I was younger. I'm glad he got to live such a long life. RIP Mr. Rall.
  8. Oh no! I hope you're okay! πŸ™‚ My day was busy, busy, busy! I work in a prison. It's really hard to help keep a prison running smoothly during a pandemic, lol.
  9. I watched "Bridal Suite" last night with Robert Young and a French actress named "Annabelle". It's not a very good movie, but I love it. Robert Young plays a rich playboy, (as always lol), who forgets to go to his wedding again. His father cuts him off until he gets his act together. His mother, who always babies him, decides to take him to a psychiatrist in Switzerland to have him diagnosed with amnesia so his bride will take him back. While in Switzerland, he falls in love with the young woman running the inn, (played by Annabelle). It can get really stupid at times, but it's suc
  10. Ooh I wish they would just leave the 3rd Godfather movie alone and just pretend that it never happened in the first place. It wouldn't be enough just to change the ending, in my opinion anyway. πŸ˜’
  11. Robert Young: Smiley! (Though sadly, not so much in real life 😞).
  12. Tee hee. Well, I don't actually hate them or anything. I'm just not a fan of them and can't exactly see what others might see in them. I guess I could say for the ones that I said "there's just something about them that I don't like", I should have put down that I don't find them attractive. It seemed a little insulting to have put that down though, lol. πŸ™‚ I can usually separate what the actor has done in his personal life from themselves as an artist, but wife beating is something that I just can't look past. I grew up in a violent home and just knowing that they would do such a th
  13. You know what, I think you guys are right about it being Audrey Totter. Ann's eyebrows are more curved.
  14. Ooh. Same here. I'll add both those to my list as well.
