Those Small Performances in Films That You Love

Kurtwood Smith as Robert Sean Leonard's demanding father in DEAD POET'S SOCIETY (1989) The scene when he finds his son dead is an outstanding expression of unbearable anguish. He is underappreciated IMHO. -

I would guess my first introduction (I was 18) to John Carradine was as Dr. Bernardo in Woody Allen's EVERTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK (1972). He was a geezer in that flick but he's the actor/scene I remember most. I stopped liking Allen movies by the late 80's. -

You are forgiven. I looked at that MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE cast and really thought I got it with Dean Stockwell. He fit your description. Young actor, took a break and came back in his later years. But...that Margaret Dumont connection couldn't be made. I hereby nominate you to come up with another test. I like this thread. It usually takes a little digging to get an answer and I like learning as I go along.

You are right! Murray Hamilton had about a 5 year hiatus from the big screen before he appeared in BEYOND THE UNKNOWN. I got lazy there. As for your next quiz I will go with Ann-Magret Next: EASY LIVING (1949)

How about Carl Reiner in "The Dick Van **** Show" and Rob Reiner for "All in the Family"? I'm not sure they were "friends" of the stars, however. But I'll give it a shot. If not...how about Ed and Keenan Wynn both appearing on "The Red Skelton Hour". Again, not different shows and not necessarily friends of the star. But...again..I'll give it a shot.

First movie character that comes to mind...
MrMagoo replied to _Broadway_'s topic in Games and Trivia
John McClane (Bruce Willis) from the Die Hard series. A true, fearless bad ****. He jumps off buildings, shrewd, can see around corners and knows danger is about when others don't. I am a frightened woodland creature and he would definitely protect me. Next: A character who you could trust with your deepest, darkest secret. -
Who's first movie appearance was in EDDIE MACON'S RUN (1983)?
