I've been toying with the idea of a new game. I noticed the other day that Woody Strode appeared in movies with Bing Crosby (STAR SPANGLED RHYTHYM (1942) and Leonardo DiCaprio (THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (1994). A period spanning 52 years. Who appeared in movies with both Patricia Neal and Tom Cruise? Answer, Paul Newman in HUD and THE COLOR OF MONEY. The idea is to name 2 actors who never appeared together but shared a common performer on screen. The further apart in time, the better. Bing Crosby never appeared with DiCaprio...nor Neal with Cruise. It could get tedious, but the idea is to name an actor who appeared with 2 other actors in 2 other films. It would be very easy to do for movies from the 30's to 50's as the studio era resulted in lots of actors performing together over and over. That should be avoided. The challenge is to find an actor who transcended Hollywood eras. Another example would be John Wayne and Kathleen Turner. Answer: John Carradine , STAGECOACH and PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED. I think that's pretty cool. I try to refer to both female and male performers as "actors". So it could be an actress and an actor....but 2 different films. So the quiz would be, "Who appeared in movies with both Bing Crosby and Leonardo DiCaprio." Name the actor and name the movies. See above: Woody Strode. If this doesn't catch on that's Ok. I'm not sure a variation of it doesn't already exist. My apologies if it does. If anyone wants to participate I'll try to keep it going. SO HERE IS THE FIRST QUIZ Who appeared with both Jimmy Stewart and Talia Shire. Name the actor and the films. (I concede there may be more than 1 answer for this one). Good luck

That was Errol Flynn's film debut as Fletcher Christian. Not a bad 1st role. Next: THE SHAKEDOWN (1929)
-
Peter Boyle also made his first screen appearance in an uncredited role in THE GROUP (1966). Both he and Bergen had nice careers....though I might say Candice might have started out on 2nd base.
-
Colin Firth Next: THE GROUP (1966)

It would be hard. You would have to look at the filmography of the two named actors and look for a third actor who appeared in a movie with both of them.

Do we have a game of...."Who appeared in a movie with both ACTOR A and another with ACTOR B? The farther apart, the better. Would anyone be interested? My example would be: Who was in a movie with both Bing Crosby and Leonardo Di Caprio. Not one movie with the 2 actors...but 2 different movies. The test being how far apart can you get the two films to be. The answer would be Woody Strode in STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM (1942) and THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (1995).

BTW....Woody Strode appeared in movies with Bing Crosby....and.....Leonardo DiCaprio. How weird is that????? He also played football at UCLA with Jackie Robinson. Woody Strode must have had some great stories and been some kind of cool guy.

Hermione Baddeley....best known for MARY POPPINS I would guess. Very good choice BTW. I chose Hermione Gingold the other day and both of these Hermiones were in THE PICKWICK PAPERS (1952). How many movies might there be with two Hermiones in them? Next: ALIBI (1942) EDWARD, MY SON (1949) LUST FOR LIFE (1956) CAST A GIANT SHADOW (1966) THE BIG SLEEP (1978) Yes...the other BIG SLEEP.

I love actors like Dub Taylor, Strother Martin, Jack Elam, Woody Strode....so many. Recognizable, lots of roles, good actors.

No need to apologize. I just think it's funny how we come up with actors. There's so many...and yet we can repeat them. As for Steve Martin he gets hung at the end of PENNIES FROM HEAVEN which is one of my all time favorite movies that was panned when it came out, but I think has become highly respected. The scenes with the classroom kids playing the pianos and the Christopher Walken scene are fabulous. I also think the Astaire/Rogers dancing on screen while Martin/Peters mimic the dance on the stage is wonderful. Next: The original James West...Robert Conrad. I think he died only once in a movie....and I'm not sure he made many big screen films.

You are right....but I wasn't thinking of Gary Coleman. I had Jami Gertz in mind. So there were at least TWO 1st timers in that memorable flick. LOL. As for your quiz, I'm going to guess Diahn Williams whom I don't know anything about. Next: PT 109 (1963) Another mostly tv star in a movie.

Peter Fonda Next: ON THE RIGHT TRACK (1981)
-
Charles Gray.....excellent....just the right amount of well known-ness and obscurity. He had a nice resume/career. I'll try to measure up. Next: MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON (1939) TANKS A MILLION (1941) RIDING HIGH (1950) A STAR IS BORN (1954) AUNTIE MAME (1958)
