  1. Came across this just today and it's kind of funny...Never really thought about it, but now that they've pointed it out, I can't unhear it!
  2. ...and he'd better not expect me to behave myself.
  3. Thanks to all the veterans this Veterans' Day! We appreciate you. We do!
  4. I didn't see the movie today, but wasn;t it filmed well before Pearl Harbor? Great movie, BTW and another of Lucille Ball's under-rated dramatic performances.
  5. The Postman Always Rings Twice: Femme Fatales, including Birthday Girl, Jane Greer:
  6. She was very good in the supporting role in WITHOUT LOVE. Snappy, snarky and as good with a snappy comeback as Eve Arden... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqU7Fu9gd4Y Here's a tribute to her movies
  7. Alan Ladd Tribute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF41ge-N-e4 Mitzi Gaynor
  8. OK, Now I really want to see this movie!
  9. I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when The Exorcist came out and all I remember is the grown-ups talking about it in hushed tones. I remember the teen-aged daughter of one of my mom's friends went and left in hysterics and my mom (who can be kind of a "Church Lady" at times) said, "Well, it serves her right, going to see trash like that." I think that was, more or less, the reaction of most of the adults I knew at the time. I came across this a while back--it's a video showing actual audience reactions to the film. I guess it was a BIG thing at the time--nobody had seen anything like it before.
  10. Nobody's mentioned her performance in Kiss Me Stupid and that's too bad, because it was a good one. She plays the only truly sympathetic character in the whole mess. She plays the blowsy bimbo with a heart of gold role wonderfully.
  11. Without proper etiquette, darling, one may as well be living in a cave somewhere eating bugs or ::shudder:: fast food...
  12. Robert Mitchum (or Old Hollywood and the Art of Date Rape?) Lucille Ball--sexy and funny:
  13. Esther Williams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF_lF550530 Silvia Sidney
  14. Cute! Ive seen afew others with hte same scene set to modern music. And of course it's fine! I just try and do stars on their birthday and if there are no birthdays (or I can;t find a video), I just post some sort of general tribute like Classic Hollywood, Film Noir, etc.
