Just spent the weekend with my daughter, the Lovely Erin...thought a little Mother-daughter humor might be in order today:

Elizabeth beame Queen because her father was King (George the somethingth) and she had no brothers, just a sister, Margaret. I think Victoria's case was similar, but won;t swear to it.

I don't know if there is a thread somewhere for interesting movie/movie star websites, but I wanted to share this one. It covers modern actors as well as classics and although I read it primarily for the Classic Hollywood section, it addresses modern TV and movies in an interesting way. Or at least I think so.

The same author also writes pieces on Classic Hollywood for The Hairpin:

Anyone else have any recommendations?

Dietrich. Because I can...
The song is Boys Will Be Boys by Goldfrappe. It's a song la Dietrich might have sung...And one for Kate, dancing.

Yeah they do. That scene has always bothered me, mostly because Rhett was such a likeable scoundrel through most of the rest of it. (And I was in love with Clark Gable...)

Here's a PDF of some of the actual memos he wrote about GWTW...on pg 8 of the PDF is part of a memo explaining why he couldn't get Bette. I wish the entire thing was posted. I'm going to have to get a copy of the book!

> {quote:title=bagladymimi wrote:}{quote}Thanks for the info Tracey. I just ordered a used paperback of "Moviola" from Amazon for $.01 + shipping and handling. I really like the way Garson Kanin writes and am sure I will enjoy all of the stories.
It starts off oddly, but stick with it. It's worth it!

Can you imagine the memos he'd have written?? LOL

The only classic movie I can think of with a royal baby scene is Sleeping Beauty and that's a cartoon.

BTW here's a link to a picture of the newest royal, if you're interested
He looks like a baby...LOL -
Happy Birthday to Gloria DeHaven!
It's also the birthday of Raymond Chandler, so here's to those bad girls of film noir:
