Someone pointedly tears up an important document? (e.g., Kane tearing up his "declaration of principles," Mr. Banks tearing up the children's advertisement for a "perfect nanny," Billy Bob Thorton--and later Catherine Zeta-Jones--tearing up a prenup agreement). Not sure this is what you're looking for, but I've never seen the other two films. π
