*Well, here it is the final entry for 1939, Hollywood's greatest year.* I hope you have enjoyed reading all the articles and seeing all the ads.
Following the column below, I am presenting pages from the Film Daily Yearbook from back then that I thought you might enjoy seeing (including TV news from 1939!)
So, hoping that my next leap will be the leap home, I wish you all a Happy New Year!

I concur. I don't agree with the OP in any way, except that there was something wrong with that CE3K print.

Thank you for another year of superb movies and wonderful specials. Thank you to Robert Osborne (we are so glad to have you back). Thank you, Ben M. (and Happy Hanukkah). Thank you, everyone at TCM from Charlie to Genevieve to, well, EVERYONE. You are all much thought of here at filmlover's place and you are my extended family. A toast to you all.
Thank you to every single person (TCM staff and temps), who worked on this year's film festival. It was even better than last year's.
And to our mods here on the TCM Message Board, thanks for keeping everything going.
And thank you, fellow posters. Sometimes we get on each other's nerves, but we are all film fans, and that is what really matters. I wish you all the best for the holidays.
Merry Christmas, all,

The Blu-ray (and I assume the DVD) that came out about a year or so ago from Paramount features an exceptional print. Especially when you compare to those PD versions that had been out there.

I went to see "Hugo" today and it is wonderful. And you will discover this is not the Martin Scorcese of "Taxi Driver" and "Casino", but, rather, the Martin Scorcese we know as one who loves movies and wants to preserve them. I don't want to give away the plot, but classic movie fans - especially those who treasure silent movies - will be in heaven. When it does head in that direction, it is a movie lover's Christmas present. There were one or two slow moments around the middle of the film, but by the end I was holding back tears.
Be sure to see it in 3D!

Barnes and Noble has a 40% off on all Blu-rays through the 24th.
Check around the internet and you may come up with 30% and 25% discounts. Sometimes the codes have been used but f you print it out and give it to the cashier, they may be nice and just type in the code or %. As they say, your mileage may vary. I tried it today and the cashier couldn't get it to scan but ended typing in the discount amounts and I got the Criterion Blu-ray titles of The Lady Vanishes for $16.79 and 12 Angry Men for 17.99.
