This first item was on the reverse of today's movie page. It was so large (about 3/4 of the page) that I had to use my cellphone to capture it as it wouldn't fit on my scanner.

The caption iunderneath it reads, "Anna Neagle, popular English movie star who makes her Hollywood debut in the title role of one of RKO's new pictures has selected this leopard skin coat for winter daytime and sports wear. Shoulders gathered into a modified squared effect, a fitted waist - new notes to be found at Minneapolis as well as at Hollywood fur shops. Note: Please do not call to ask where this particular coat may be found. It is pictured only to show a stye trend, a trend that you'll find at your favorite furrier."

I wonder if mikemcgee lost his sanity before or after watching Nazi propaganda films?
-
"He's now spamming the boards over there with the same plea for a boycott. Meanwhile, he's equating the administrators over there to Nazis because they won't let him review a film and include a phrase that the Nazis considered jazz to be n-word music."
mikemcgee should be permanently banned from the TCM message board. He has been doing this over and over a very long time.
-
I'm finally going to do it, clore. I am going to put mikemcgee on Ignore. It's the same with him all the time. Long, often-unintelligible posts, always asking for the same thing: Nazi propaganda. I don't know, mike, maybe a trip to Brazil will satisfy your needs.
By the way, mike, welcome to America.

I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it, so let's try it again.
Kino has gone the Sophia Loren Award Collection DVD set one better as it releases its Blu-ray set. The Blu set will add Boccaccio '70, not in the DVD set. Release date for the set is Sept. 20th. Boccaccio '70 will be released separately on Blu on Oct. 11th. The other titles in the set are already available individually on Blu: Marriage Italian Style, Sunflower, and Yesterday Today and Tomorrow. Vittoria D, a documentary, will be in the set on DVD. (It is available with the YTT Blu.)

Cobolt, sir (or Madame, as the case may be), you must let us know what you consider the "good stuff"? I am delighting in the week so far. And tomorrow is Charles Laughton, all day. How can anyone not be happy about that?
By the way, since you are a recent signer to the boards, perhaps you don't know that this month is Summer Under the Stars and each day is devoted to one star.

Thanks for the detail. It sure adds a sinister touch to the whole picture of just dancing together.

Costco members should get into their local store ASAP. They have a clearance sale on Disney combo packs gift sets. These were something like $29.95, then got marked down to $19.95, and are now $9.97. Thee may be a $29.95 sticker still on it, but don't be concerned. Take it to the cashier and it is automatically reduced.
There are 5 different titles:
Wall-E
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Up
Monsters, Inc.
Here's the one for Wall-E

Each set contains a Blu-ray/DVD combo set (some with digital copy, too), a hardcover book about that particular film, a Pixar Litho Set of 11 8x10 pictures from Pixar films, and a sticker book.
This is a great bargain, since the Blu/DVD would probably cost about $20 each.
