  1. I’m trying to find out the title of a Warners Bros. Vitaphone short shown on Sunday, December 19. I think it was shown right before the Noir Alley selection (Blast of Silence) but, it was shown early. It featured a tall lanky male dancer (very prominent front teeth) but he could dance like lightening. He and a female did one number where they were dancing on large musical notes and another where there was a giant ticker tape machine I believe. I think that might have also been a young Phil Silvers. I came in just after the start both times (central and pacific), so I never saw the title or any names. I would love to find out the name so I can get this for myself as well as getting more info on the male dancer. He was phenomenal.
  2. Hello.... I’m rewriting and reposting a much needed movie scene of mine.... it’s a 1930s black and white movie.... I don’t know what the plotline of the movie is.. however I do feel it may be a romantic/comedy.... and the scene that I remember is.... a young lady is laying on her side on her bed and when she turns over she sees her little brown dog.... and they have a conjoined scene where they both stick their tongues out at each other.... and this seems to amuse the young lady ( it’s really cute!....) I know that this not a lot to go on.... but I would still love to find it and watch it!... any thoughts or questions please reply!.. thank you!.. Jane..
  3. Hi Everyone Agatha here... so I have this black and White 1930s/1940s movie that I have been trying to find for awhile now... I don’t remember much just this one scene... so there is a young lady in a long black evening dress looking in a mirror and I think she’s talking to a man who is sitting to the left, there also might be more people in the scene as well but I just really remember those two... a few more details about the scene is that when you are watching it the mirror is on the right and it also might be a three way mirror...also I’m not positive about the color of the young lady but I’m thinking blonde/light brown... let me know if you have any questions/thoughts! Thank you!!
  4. So, here it is: There was a short on TCM Extras, two friends talking about infidelity among women. The first man happens to be cheating on his wife with another woman. He declares his wife would never do such a thing to him. I think the second man was not quite so sure about women always being faithful to their lovers and husbands. The conversation goes on and eventually the cheater leaves. It turns out his wife is cheating on HIM with his best friend/the other guy in the room he was just talking to. I'm entirely unsure about it being a Vitaphone short, but maybe it is? Has anyone ever seen or heard of this short? I'm thinking it was Pre Code because of the content. If anyone can point me in the right direction or knows the name of this short, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance!
  5. Okay, so I was wondering if anybody could identify a film (20 minutes, maybe half an hour in length) that I saw on TCM a few years ago. It's a black and white talkie, probably from the '20s or '30s, about dogs fighting World War One. And to be clear, I'm not talking about dogs fighting alongside humans. I'm talking about anthropomorphized dogs fighting as though they were humans, doing all the things that humans did. They walk on their hind legs through some kind of proto-stop motion, and are dubbed with human voices. It is one of the most incredible movies I've ever seen, and for the life of me I can't remember the title or find any recordings of it online.
  6. I think, for me, I thoroughly enjoyed The Bad Seed (1956), What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (1962) and The Thing from Another World (1951; despite its corniness; "Keep watching the skies!") What are some y'all have seen that you thought were weird/strange, scary/creepy, or just things that made you think?
  7. Greetings. I am trying to locate a short that I cannot find through IMDB. Back in the mid-80's, I saw a comedy short on TCM that left a definitive impression on me, and now I can't seem to locate it because another version of it was made in 1940 by Del Lord. The title is "Cold Turkey". In Lord's 1940 version, Harry Langdon played the starring role and it took place during the Christmas season. The version I'm looking for took place during Thanksgiving. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
  8. There is an old comedy movie I've seen. I believe it is pre-code, but certainly from the 1930's. The scene that's in my head is early in the movie in which an actress is in a bathtub, singing. What made the scene stick in my head is that it appears that helium or hydrogen is being bubbled into the tub, creating bubbles and foam which gently floats from the tub towards the celing. I've tried doing searches but haven't had any luck. I'm hoping someone can help me find this film again. Thanks all.
