  1. Howdy. I am marking my calendar for films I am most excited for during "31 Days of Oscar", one of which is "Sons and Lovers" (1960). However, I noticed a discrepancy between the ""31 Days of Oscar" schedule and the weekly schedule , that leaves me questioning the airtime of "Sons and Lovers". On "31 Days of Oscar" schedule:"Sons and Lovers" is set to show on Tues, Feb 18 at 9:45 pm ET between "Brief Encounter" and "Pygmalion". But on the weekly schedule: "Sons and Lovers" is curiously missing on Feb 18 (and every other day), even though "Brief Encounter" and "Pygmalion" appear at the same times as in the "31Days" schedule. This begs the question: is "Sons and Lovers" no longer showing on TCM on Feb 18? or was it simply forgotten in the weekly schedule? I was very excited at a chance to see this film, and would appreciate a timely response. Exhibit A: "Sons & Lovers" scheduled at 9:45 Exhibit B: "Sons and Lovers" has vanished
  2. What happened to Lolita shown 2/15/17? I was watching attentively (I think). Humbert (James Mason) had just entered the house where he was sure he would find Clare Quilty (Peter Sellers). Humbert called out Quilty's name twice...AND SUDDENLY there was text on the screen over the bullet-riddled oil painting of a woman, revealing that Humbert was convicted of Quilty's murder and died in prison...THE END. I remember an entire scene of the confrontation and killing. Did TCM cut it or did I fall asleep for 21/2 minutes?
  3. Hi, Just noticed this on TCM Facebook: Fans, we've got a classic film challenge coming your way. This year for The Academy 31 Days of Oscar we're going to play a game inspired by "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon." Each film we show in February will link to the next film by one actor. So if we show TOP HAT ('35) first, then we could connect with Ginger Rogers, and the next film on the list might be KITTY FOYLE ('40). We won't repeat any actor connections from film to film, and we won't repeat any films throughout the month. The best part? The first film and last film of 31 Days of Oscar will connect as well, making for 360 degrees of connection. Throughout the month, we'll ask you to figure out the connections between each title. Get ready for it. https://www.facebook.com/tcmtv/?fref=nf --------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's supposed to be for February. Have no idea if there are any prizes to be won? TCM wants us to do our own Charlie Chan/Nick Charles/Sherlock Holmes/Inspecteur Clouseau thing and put our thinking caps on to make connections between films...
  4. The February 2015 schedule is available here: http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?tz=est&sdate=2015-2-01 It's heavy on repeats, as always for February, but I'm very glad for an opportunity to catch these movies on TV in uncut form: Deliverance Barry Lyndon The Great Santini The Emigrants Running on Empty The Fisher King
