I just think the hidden message in all his movies was the way his character connected with older individuals in each movie ... the dialogue is so wonderful and natural sigh ... don't I wish that was relevant today nowadays older people are portrayed in such a terrible way we are all people and feel the same inside and out
  2. Having lived in Palm Springs from teens until 15 years ago (1980-2003), I learned what a small town it was, especially as to running into celebrities. Not only was my brother's mother-in-law Bob Hope's cook, but from 1985-1990 I worked Guest Services at a private resort that catered to celebrities. (I often spoke with Ralph Bellamy, who was a friend of the owner.) Later I worked for the city magazine, where celebrities were among our article subjects, advertisers, and subscribers. Among my good-sized collection of celebrity autographed photos, several are of those featured in these musicals. F
  3. This week, I have been watching the Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney movies on TCM with great interest. Up until this point, I had no idea of the real magnitude of her stardom, or her exquisite presence on the big screen. I had always considered Judy Garland as a wonderful talent, but until now, I really did not dig deep into her mystique, her sensuality and her overall charm on the screen. Thanks TCM for bringing great movies to all, and allowing the true movie giants to once again be seen!
