  1. We have a lot of great repertory theaters in the city like Film Forum and Metrograph, as well as museums that sometimes show classics like the NY Historical Society and MoMA. Would anyone be interested in creating a little moviegoing group for classics screenings?
  2. I apologize if this has been posted otherwise, but the restored version of 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' is going to be playing at The Film Forum if any of you are in NYC. Is anyone planning to go? https://filmforum.org/film/the-passion-of-joan-of-arc-film
  3. Trying to find the name of an obscure movie. It ran on TCM late night around 2003-2013. It might have been featured in the Underground Vault series? It was in color and made in the 1970's ( I think?). It was a cheesy drama about a beautiful young woman who wants to be a fashion model in NYC. Her rise to the top. She is American, but looks kind of French with dark features. There is a scene with her walking on the beach being photographed (there is some brief nudity here). She becomes friends with another female model (who is a bit older). There are also scenes of her in a nightclub liste
  4. Just a test to see how posting images go. I was down at the Main Branch of the New York Public Library and saw this in the Map Room, pretty cool old map of the points of interest in Harlem.
  5. West Side Story, which has been my all time favorite film, hands down, since having seen it for the very first time, at around Christmastime of 1968, during a big national re-release of this film, when I was a high school Senior, at a now-defunct cinema north of where my siblings & I grew up. Little did I, my friends or family know that my very first viewing of the film West Side Story would begin a love affair with this great classic film that would last all the way through the present! Not only did I fall in love with the film West Side Story instantly, but, since I was still a te
  6. Hello. I'm trying to identify a movie that I only saw the middle of on TCM at least 8 years ago. It's set either in NYC or some other large city, but I definitely got the NYC vibe from it. It follows a girl in her early 20's as she goes about her routine. It's not about big-city life, it's more about loneliness. There's very little dialogue, she lives in a tiny apartment with an old fashioned sky light that she uses a broom handle to open. The styling is very austere and stark. She wears very plain dresses in the style of 1950's house dresses with no pattern on the fabric and her hair is
