  1. "Variety" has just reported that Ken Osmond, the actor who portrayed Eddie Haskell on "Leave It To Beaver" has died from respiratory issues. The 76 year- old actor died this morning in his Los Angeles home. In addition to working on television, Osmond also appeared in several Classic Movies: So Big & Good Morning, Miss Dove.
  2. As a huge science fiction/horror film fan who got hooked by watching "Supernatural Theatre" (WOR Channel 9 NY), "Chiller Theatre" (WPIX Channel 11 NY) and "Million Dollar Movie" (WOR Channel 9 NY), there are a LOT of titles from those years I saw on TCM-thankfully-but others I would love to see again. One is "THE FLAME BARRIER", starring Arthur Franz (which I overdosed on WOR Channel 9). Also, another is "MACUMBA LOVE" (1960) from United Artists; starring Walter Reed, June Wilkinson, Ziva Rodann-not seen in over 40 years! Anyone else have favorites from their youth?
  3. Was watching a Mad Men DVD special on Baby Boomers and discovered Leonard Steinhorn. In 2006 he published The Greater Generation about how baby boomers are just as great as the Greatest Generation. Will have to get it and read it. Also found an article by him on what is so appealing about Sanders and Trump both. On History News Nework, Article 162019: Sanders and Trump: How political and media establishment got 2016 so wrong. Basically both are appealing to those who lost jobs, lost income, lost property values, etc. while watching the very wealthy and corporations get wealthier. Personally, I think Sanders does a better job of identifying the problem and proposing solutions. But I still think his plans are too ambitious and too scary for the average voter and especially the people in Congress and state legislatures. On the other hand, Trump just appeals to the anger with no practical solutions at all.
