We are looking for the title of a B&W movie (rom-com) from the 30s or 40s set in the Arctic. The man was engaged to a society woman from NYC, and was doing research or weather tracking along with an Eskimo side-kick. A couple of stranded travctic region.

Please help us discover the title of a great romantic comedy from the 30s or 40s about a bachelor scientist or weatherman stationed in the Arctic with an Eskimo assistant. The leading man was engaged to a society gal but hadn't seen her in ages. A wealthy couple from a plane crash stumble upon his cabin and stay with him while waiting to be rescued. The leading man starts falling for the wealthy lady, and there is a scene where he hosts a fancy dinner to impress her and finds his tuxedo to wear, and she wears an evening gown. Then, his fiancee contacts him to say that she's on a boat coming to see him. He and the couple go to meet the boat, and stop by the wrecked plane, and they see a polar bear. With all of this, we cannot remember the names of any of the actors. Please help! Many thanks, Ellen & Greg
