Most Romantic Couple

Ha! Yeah, me too, usually. But, in the case of Lamarr, there is no contest for me.

But, as far as a guy, I was thinkin' maybe Guy Madison, good looking, but not a major star. Burt Lancaster was great, but he really wasn't on the same level as far as looks as Power or Hudson. So, my conclusion is the 40's didn't produce any major heartthrob!

In my opinion, the most romantic couple in the movies during the 40's and 50's was Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. I love "Woman of the Year," "Adam's Rib," and "Pat and Mike." I never tire of watching them.

In the more recent time period, I like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I loved "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail." Even though "Joe and the Volcano" bombed at the box office, I still like watching it.

I have several favorites. Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in Notorious; Ronald Colman and Greer Garson in Random Harvest; John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man; and Gene Kelly and Judy Garland in For Me and My Gal.

One of my favorite onscreen couples has to be Myrna Loy and William Powell. The Thin Man series is priceless and a wonderful example of a smart, sexy married couple who solve crime, party up, raise a child, visit often disapproving familys but ultimately are completely infatuated with each other. Plus it doesn't hurt that both Loy and Powell each had individual charm and moxie.

Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn, Clark Gable and Joan Crawford were really a wonderful pare on and off I heard. William Powell and Myra Loy of course was the best in the thin man series. Robert Montogmery and Joan Crawford was good too. But the best was Betty Davis and Paul Henried in "Now Voyager" the very best. I love them all back in the day of Classic Movies.
