Yes, I meant the details of the extras. ;)

I'm really happy that we'll finally have a classic Disney animated feature on Blu-Ray - it's going to be a long wait for all their other classics to be released on Blu-Ray.

Don't know if I mentioned it earlier, but when I was in L.A. for the Cinerama screening, I also had a chance to drop by El Capitan to watch the restored version of *Sleeping Beauty*.

Mais non! The key word in my last post was *all*. By that, I meant *all* of the animated classics, not just the small bunch that's already been announced for Blu-Ray.

In addition to the already announced titles, we would also need *101 Dalmatians, Cinderella, Dumbo, Aladdin, Peter Pan, The Lion King, The Jungle Book, The Sword in the Stone, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp, The Rescuers, Tarzan, Mulan, The Fox and the Hound, The Three Caballeros, Saludos Amigos, Make Mine Music, The Aristocats,* etc.

So I stand by my earlier, carefully worded pronouncement. It will be a long wait until ALL of the Disney animated classics are available on Blu-Ray. ;)

Someone over at highdefdigest.com has said that in the upcoming Blu-ray release of Poltergeist there is a pamphlet from WB announcing some titles coming for Blu-ray. Some we know about, but some are new announcements:

The Wizard of Oz

JFK

Shawshank Redemption

Being There

Woodstock

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

King Kong (original)

Gone with the Wind

The Matrix 10th Anniversary

Rush Hour

The Notebook

Amadeus

As I said, a number of titles we already know are coming, but I am delighted to see the new announcement of the original King Kong in there.

Here is the link (and the original poster said he would be putting up photos of the pamphlet later tonight):

According to digitalbits.com, WHV has finally got MGM: When the Lion Roars ready for release on DVD, on 1/20>>

FF,

I'm guessing that it is just a standard def release and not Blu-Ray? I won't complain as I have wanted this one (almost as much as I have wanted the Brownlow/Gill/Shepard *Hollywood* ) to come to DVD.

Too bad it wasn't in time for the holidays but I'll get over that one!

I've been looking forward to it for years, too, so I won't mind if it's only on DVD. Late January is going to be quite nice, imho, with this one and *Far From the Madding Crowd* and *The Yellow Rolls-Royce* finally coming out on DVD. B-)

Warners has announced it will release *The Mask*, which owes a lot to Tex Avery cartoons (there is even a tribute feature to him in the extras section), on Blu-ray on December 9th. Special features look to be the same as the New Line DVD that came out a few years ago:

-Behind the Story

-Commentary with director Charles Russell, co-chairman of New Line Cinema Bob Shaye, writer Mike Werb, executive producer Mike Richardson, producer Bob Engelman, ILM VFX supervisor Scott Squires, animation supervisor Tom Bertino and cinematographer John Leonetti

Commentary with director Charles Russell

-Return To Edge City - The radical transformation from the edgy comic book to the an extremely cool film with explosive characters, colors, effects, romance and musical numbers

-Introducing Cameron Diaz - From an inexperienced, fresh new face, to a leading lady as voluptuous, blonde bombshell. For Tina Carlyle, casting Actress Cameron Diaz was a story in Hollywood history

-Cartoon Logic - Tribute to genius cartoonist Tex Avery, credited as the main influence to Hollywood studio cartoons and the first to introduce humor to animation

-What Makes Fido Run - Personality, characteristics and training are all part of picking the perfect Hollywood pooch

-Additional Scenes with commentary

-Viking Scene- Alternate Opening

-The Death of Peggy

-Trailers

-Theatrical trailer

(WB is also releasing *Dumb & Dumber*, another Jim Carrey film, on the same day but I don't consider it as terrific as The Mask.)
