Tikisoo
A letter in FILMS OF THE GOLDEN AGE magazine asks this ID question....and piqued my curiosity. Maybe some of you might know this movie.... "A scene from a b&w film, likely from the 40's...set is a grand living room in a wealthy establishment. A chic well dressed white woman talks to her black maid who's wearing a typical maid's uniform with white apron & gloves. When the well dressed woman leaves for the evening, the maid-without removing her gloves- sits at the piano and plays a swinging jazz riff." Anyone? Guesses? Kid Dabb
How's about New Orleans (1947) with Billie Holliday as Endie, the maid. One viewer's review - HERE In this film the "ladies" are wearing the gloves not the maid, and the maid is caught playing and singing a blues piece on the piano in an affluent home and has been reprimanded for doing so. YouTube has a good English language print subtitled in (I believe) Spanish - HERE Watch in the beginning - from 10:50:00 to 11:30:
