CaveGirl
Attention! Say that with a French accent s'il vous plait! TCM is showing two of his best films this Sunday late at night or rather early Monday morning, if you want to get technical. I've seen the second one, "Carnival in Flanders" and thought it was excellent but have not seen the first, although the premise sounds interesting: 12:00 AM GRIBICHE (1925) A miserably unhappy young boy despises his stepmother and stepsister. Dir: Jacques Feyder BW-113 mins, 2:00 AM CARNIVAL IN FLANDERS (1935) When a village's men flee, the women are left to cope with Spanish invaders. Dir: Jacques Feyder Cast: Louis Jouvet , BW-114 mins,
kingrat
Carnival in Flanders is a treat. TCM has scheduled Gribiche before but had to remove it from the schedule. Feyder is a talented director. Knight Without Armour is good, too.
laffite
I have had to revert to VHS recording of late and I am getting along quite fine. I've got both films scheduled. I used to have movies on DVR and they could stay there for a long time and even then I may not get to them. I get to the VHS recordings much more quickly, a paradox. Thanks for the heads up on these. ==
